    • A mixture for the oxidative dyeing of human or animal hair, which is prepared immediately before application by mixing an oxidant and a dye base in cream, gel or powder form containing at least one oxidative dye and adjusting to a pH in the range of 8.0 to 10.5.The means contains in the freshly-prepared state a microencapsulated, acid-reacting compound in an amount which shifts the pH of the dye into the weakly alkaline (pH.ltoreq.8), neutral or acid range.The encapsulating material for the acid-reacting compound is soluble in the alkaline dye or changeable at least in its strength properties in the sense of a weakening, the wall thickness of the microcapsules being so adjusted that the walls are dissolved or weakened within a period between 10 and 60 minutes to such an extent that the acid-reacting compound is able by itself or upon the exertion of an additional mechanical stress to emerge into the dye.Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of the means for the redyeing of dyed hair.

    • Apparatus for applying cosmetic preparations in liquid or paste form comprising a cylindrical casing provided with a slidable piston which divides the casing into first and second chambers which are sealed relative to one another. The first chamber contains a mixing member which by an operating stem guided sealingly to the outside through the piston and the second chamber, can be reciprocated inside the first chamber. This first chamber may be filled with a cosmetic preparation to be emptied by controllable amounts by an applicator detachably fastened to the casing. A tubular casing extension is inserted into the free end of the second chamber and contains a compression spring for pre-stressing the piston. The casing extension is telescopically movable into and out of the second chamber. At the free end of the casing extension a locking mechanism is provided by which the casing extension, when fully inserted into the casing, can be detachably locked to the casing.

    • The invention relates to a two-chamber container in which two separate components are to be mixed together to make a ready-to-use preparation before it is dispensed from the container, and which are contained in two chambers, an upper container and a lower container chamber, disposed one above the other in a container housing. The container chambers are connected to one another by a passage running from the top of the lower container chamber into the bottom of the upper container chamber. A separating plug stops this passage. The plug can be displaced into one of the container chambers by a plunger element which can be displaced in a vertical direction from the outside, so that the components can flow together and be mixed with one another within the container.

    • An originality seal for disposable or single use receptacles adapted to be fitted to an applicator having a peripheral sealing surface for connection to the disposable receptacles consisting of a receptacle-side sealing surface for engaging the wall of the disposable receptacle. The seal includes a resilient sealing ring surrounding the sealing surface, the ring having at least two sealing lips, one of the lips cooperating sealingly with the peripheral sealing surface of the applicator when the disposable receptacle is fitted thereto and the second sealing lip cooperating sealingly with the receptacle side sealing surface. There is also frangible webs coupling the resilient sealing rings to the receptacle-side sealing surface so that the frangible webs will rupture by the force of engagement of the disposable receptacle to the applicator.
