摘要： A wall mounted sheet supporting structure includes a horizontal squaring bar, and a near vertical elongated anvil, both the bar and the anvil being joined together by a gusset plate, and the resulting structure being readily attached to a wall by means of a web shaped bracket behind the anvil, and a smaller Z-shaped bracket spaced from the anvil along the squaring bar. Two guide rods are mounted parallel to but spaced in front of the elongated anvil, and a manually movable cross-head is slidably mounted on these rods. A scoring device is provided in the head for scoring the sheet along a line over the anvil. The scoring device is resiliently mounted in the head on a rocker arm assembly which includes a cutting knife for scoring plastic, and a glass cutting wheel for scoring glass. The cutting force can be varied within two discrete ranges, a much larger force being available for cutting plastic than that provided for cutting glass.

摘要： A self-aligning pillar post of the type used in a glass cutting apparatus has a bifurcated head portion in which the glass cutting wheel is rotatably mounted, and has a stem portion which is received in a sleeve for limited rotational travel and for limited axial movement in the vertical direction. A Bellville spring urges the head downwardly in the sleeve so that a cross pin seats in a V-shaped slot to align the head in a predetermined direction. The pin is adapted to be raised upwardly out of the slot as the glass cutting wheel engages the glass surface to be cut allowing the head to rotate within predetermined limits. A vertically extending passageway is defined in the head, and a valve element within the stem portion of the head is adapted to be unseated in response to upward movement of the head to allow cutting fluid to pass downwardly onto the cutting wheel and onto the glass surface whenever the cross pin is so raised. A spring is provided to urge the valve element toward its seated position, and the upward motion of the head with respect to the sleeve is amplified by a mechanical lever in order to open the valve against the bias of said spring.

摘要： Two constructions for a glass cutter are disclosed, and each comprises an insert with an axle for rotatably supporting a glass cutting wheel, a holder having a slot for removably receiving the insert. The holder is mounted to a cutting head of the type used for traversing a glass sheet, and the holder slot opens downwardly and forwardly for receiving the insert. In one version the insert has an inclined cam slot for receiving a pin in the holder, which pin extends across the holder slot to wedge the insert in place. In the other version the insert carries the pin, and the holder defines the cam slot for achieving the same end result.
