    • The alarm arrangement is among those in which an alarm is released by the coincidence of a first contact point coupled to the going train of the timepiece with a second contact point coupled to an index the position of which may be regulated by a manual control element. In this arrangement the second contact point (68) is coupled to a member (60) fixed to a rotating shaft (58) on which are pivoted wheel sets (76, 92) of the going train which bear time indicating hands (82, 100). In a very simple case the member fixed to the rotating shaft is adjacent the timepiece hour wheel (80) and the contact points (68, 90) are borne by these two elements on their faces and facing one another. On the other hand the manual control element may be advantageously formed by the glass (16) of the timepiece which is then coupled to one of the ends of the rotating shaft and a rotatable bezel (22) to which the glass is fastened.

    • The face of the watch bears a design and has windows set in it in areas which do not affect the design itself. The disk which, in a normal watch, serves to display the day of the week, bears a design corresponding to the central portion of the design on the face. The ring which, in a normal watch, serves to display the date, bears a design corresponding to the portion of the face design which is not on the disk. Owing to this arrangement the design on the face only appears every 217 days without a parasitic image being present in the windows. The rest of the time the disk and the ring cause portions of the design to appear in the windows which give a confused overall appearance.

    • The purpose of the invention is the realization of a motor assembly formed from a stepping motor and its control circuit capable of operating at a maximum speed substantially greater than that obtainable with comparable existing assemblies.This is effected by substituting for the single coil or for each coil of a known motor two or more windings and adopting a control circuit which connects the windings in series or parallel according to whether motor drive pulses of low or high frequency are applied thereto. The total number of winding turns and the sum of the resistances of the windings are preferably chosen to be equal respectively to the number of turns and the resistance of the coil which they replace in order to avoid basic modification of the characteristics and performances of the motor when operating at low speed.When the windings are connected in parallel their resistance and equivalent self-inductance are less than that of a single coil. The energy transfer from the voltage source to the rotor of the motor is increased and facilitated and the maximum speed of the motor is considerably increased.
