摘要： A multiphase superconducting cable connection structure includes a connection box accommodating three conductor connects connecting a superconductor of a cable core of each phase extracted from a pair of 3-phase superconducting cables, a solid insulation member fixed to an outer circumference of each conductor connect, and a metal flange fixing the solid insulation member to the connection box. By fixing the metal flange to the connection box (a refrigerant vessel), the conductor connect can be positioned and the conductor connector's movement caused as the cable core thermally contracts can be reduced. The structure can help to position the conductor connect in the connection box and reliably hold it at a prescribed position.

Assuming that the first flange has a thickness L1 and a coefficient of linear expansion α1, the second flange has a thickness L2 and a coefficient of linear expansion α2, superposed first flange and second flange have a thickness L, and the bolt has a coefficient of linear expansion α, a relation of L·α≧L1·α1+L2·α2 is satisfied, i.e. heat shrinkage of the bolt is not smaller than the total heat shrinkage of the first and second flanges. Thus, impairment of sealing property due to heat shrinkage is avoided at a flange junction used at low temperature.

A termination structure of a superconducting cable includes a terminal of the superconducting cable disposed on a low-temperature side, a bushing 10 for communicating power between the low-temperature side and a room-temperature side, a connection part 2 connecting the terminal of the cable and the bushing 10, and a terminal connection box 3 accommodating the connection part 2. The terminal connection box 3 includes a coolant vessel 20 accommodating a terminal of the bushing 10 on the low-temperature side and the connection part 2 and filled with a coolant for cooling the terminal and the connection part 2 and a vacuumed vessel 30 disposed so as to surround the coolant vessel 20. The vacuumed vessel 30 includes a first vacuum part 31 where a vacuum can be maintained irrespective of the presence or absence of the bushing 10.
