    • A centrifugal fan comprises an impeller, a motor which is connected and rotates the impeller and a housing which has an intake and an air blowing port for housing the impeller. The impeller has a plurality of blades arranged on a circumference. The intake opens opposed to the right end (in FIG. 1) of the impeller. The air blowing port opens opposed to a side of the impeller. A gap enlarged portion, in which the distance between the outer circumference of the impeller and the inner face of the housing starts to increase at a point where the distance between the outer circumferential of the impeller and the surface of a nose portion is smallest therein, the nose portion being a region of the vicinity of an edge portion of the air blowing port, the edge portion being the closest side to the outer circumference of the impeller.

    • A motor includes a heat dissipating structure. The motor may be used for a fan and includes on an upper surface of a circuit board a heat dissipating layer. The heat dissipating layer has a high thermal conductivity. The fan also includes a coil provided on the teeth of a stator core. The heat dissipating layer and the coil axially face each other, and thermal conductive members are arranged therebetween. An outer dimension of the circuit board is greater than that of an impeller cup so that a radially outward portion of the circuit board protrudes radially outwardly from the impeller cup. The heat generated by the coil is transferred to the heat dissipating layer via the thermal conductive members. Therefore, the heat is dissipated from a wide area, which efficiently dissipates heat from the fan. In addition, since the circuit board and the heat dissipating layer protrude radially into an air-flow generated by an impeller, the heat transferred to the heat dissipating layer is actively dissipated.

    • Fan includes wires electrically connected to the circuit board outwardly extends from a base toward a housing along a rib connecting the base supporting a motor and the housing. The housing includes a wire-receiving section defined by a through hole extending in the housing, and a slit connecting the through hole and an outside of the housing along a direction in which the through hole extends. The wires are inserted into the wire-receiving section via the slit, and then, led outside of the housing through the wire-receiving section. A wire-holding member is then inserted into the wire-receiving section to close the slit to prevent the wires from coming out of the wire-receiving section and to restrict the movement of the wires.

    • A motor arranged to rotate an impeller includes a rotor magnet fixed to a shaft, and a stator arranged opposite to the rotor magnet. The motor is arranged on an axially lower side of an impeller cup. The stator is fixed to an inner circumferential surface of a stator support portion. An opening-side end portion of the impeller cup is arranged opposite to an upper surface of the stator support portion. The upper surface of the stator support portion includes an expanded portion defined in a portion thereof which is opposed to the opening-side end portion of the impeller cup. The expanded portion is preferably located a greater distance from the opening-side end portion of the impeller cup than a distance between the opening-side end portion and a remaining portion of the upper surface of the stator support portion.
