摘要： By smoothing a full-color image, staircasing of characters even in a gradation image is removed. An area to be smoothed is detected from image data having a plurality of color components, and image data included in the detected area is smoothed in units of color components.Image data which places an importance on resolution is smoothed by increasing the resolution to reproduce smooth characters and figures. Image data which places an importance on gradation characteristic is output without increasing the resolution, thus attaining high-gradation recording. A character or figure is detected from bitmap image data input from external equipment, and is smoothed. In correspondence with the density of the smoothed image data, the pulse width is switched, thereby changing the resolution of image data.

If the electronic file corresponding to the original image cannot be specified, the original image is converted into vector data. The vector data is converted into image data. On the basis of the comparison result, the first image data or vector data is selected as the electronic file corresponding to the original image.

摘要： There are provided an image processing system and image processing method which can appropriately set whether to convert an original paper document into re-usable vector data before obtaining vector data from the paper document. An image scanning unit (110) scans a document to obtain image information, and a storage device (111) stores the image information. A data processing device (115) detects control information appended to the document from the image information and determines whether vectorization of the image information is permitted or inhibited. If the data processing device (115) determines that vectorization is permitted, it converts the image information into vector data; otherwise, it directly stores the image information in the storage device (111).

摘要： This invention provides an image processing system and image processing method which can promote efficient use of a memory by vectorizing all data of a representative object and, for the same or similar object, referring to the vectorized representative object and using difference data and also convert the same or similar objects at once by editing only the representative object.
