摘要： In a method for fingerprint identification, fingerprint images of parts of one finger of a person to be registered are registered as registered fingerprint images, and a relative position is calculated. A fingerprint image of a person to be identified is acquired as a read fingerprint image. Based on the relative position, a registered fingerprint image from among the registered fingerprint images is specified, and a matching degree between the registered fingerprint image specified and the read fingerprint image is calculated. The specifying and the calculating are executed until the matching degree is greater than a predetermined value.

摘要： The biometric information input apparatus comprises a fingerprint sensor which detects biometric information, and moisture absorbing units and which are arranged adjacent to the fingerprint sensor and absorb moisture. The moisture absorbing units and have a groove structure which generates a capillary phenomenon. The fingerprint sensor is of the sweep type which scans biometric information through relative displacement with the finger, and is formed in parallel with the direction of relative displacement between the groove structure and the finger. The groove structure has a width smaller than the pitch of the ridges of an average fingerprint.

摘要： A stream data recording apparatus records stream data in such a manner that the head of each video coding unit and the head of a series of audio coding unit corresponding to each video coding unit contained in the stream data coincide with the heads of access units of a recording medium. Utilizing the structure of stream data so recorded and the random accessibility of the recording medium, a stream data replaying apparatus and a stream data editing apparatus replay or edit the stream data freely on a video coding unit basis. By replacing stream data recorded on the recording medium on a video coding unit basis, the recording apparatus realizes endless recording that does not require complex file manipulation.
