    • Disclosed herein is a multi-air conditioner central control system, which shares the physical network and control resources with a multi-air conditioner system so as to control a ventilation system in an integrated manner. The central control system comprises a multi-air conditioner system including one or more multi-air conditioners connected to a network for indoor air conditioning, a ventilation system including one or more ventilation devices connected to the network for ventilating indoor air by inhaling and exhausting the indoor air, and a central controller connected with the multi-air conditioner system and the ventilation system for monitoring, in real time, a state of each of the multi-air conditioners and the ventilation devices and controlling an operation thereof. Thus, each operation of the multi-air conditioning facilities installed throughout the building can be rapidly and efficiently controlled via the single central control system. Moreover, for central control of the ventilation system, there is no need to equip an additional network and controller. Consequently, system construction costs are minimized and system development time can be greatly reduced.

    • Disclosed are a central control system for multi-type air conditioners and an operating method thereof. In the central control system, multi-type air conditioners comprise a large number of indoor devices and a small number of outdoor devices, and a central controller is coupled to the multi-type air conditioners over a network. The central controller transmits a control graphic user interface (GUI) program provided therein to the remote control device so that an integrated control operation for respective air conditioners can be carried out. The central controller adjusts a transmission time of the control command signal received from the remote control device and transmits the control command signal to a corresponding air conditioner according to a result of the adjustment so that signal collision can be avoided. As the multi-type air conditioners installed within a building can be centrally controlled and efficiently managed, and control command signals from control devices coupled to the central controller over an internal/external network are transmitted to corresponding air conditioners, a control operation can be reliably performed.

    • A central control system includes a plurality of air conditioners and a central control unit connected to the air conditioners over a network. The air conditioners are installed in rooms of a building to provide air conditioning in the rooms. The central control unit receives a control command for monitoring and controlling each of the air conditioners, and adjusts an operating schedule of each of the air conditioners to limit total peak power consumption of the air conditioners in operation below a reference power value. The central control unit controls the operation of each of the air conditioners based on the adjusted operating schedule. When the total peak power consumption exceeds the reference power value, the central control unit prevents the entire air conditioning system from shutting down, which improves stability of the air conditioning system and decreases electricity costs for air conditioning.

    • A central control system of air conditioners includes a multi-type air conditioning system, a power meter and a central controller. The air conditioning system includes a plurality of indoor units for air conditioning installed in rooms of a building and an outdoor unit for circulation of refrigerant, where the indoor units share the outdoor unit. The power meter is connected to the outdoor unit to measure power consumption of the air conditioning system when the system operates. The central control unit calculates respective power consumptions of the indoor units based on both the power consumption measured by the power meter and operation information of the air conditioning system, and displays the calculated power consumptions of the indoor units. It is thus possible to determine respective power consumption patterns and electricity charges of the indoor units more accurately, thereby improving management efficiency of the entire air conditioning system.

    • Disclosed herein are a multi-air conditioner central control system and a power control method thereof. The central control system comprises a plurality of watt-hour meters for measuring power consumption of a plurality of multi-air conditioners each having an outdoor unit and a plurality of indoor units, to compute power consumption of the respective indoor units, and a central control unit for dividing power consumption of the respective indoor units into operating power consumption and standby power consumption according to operation or non-operation of the respective indoor units and a particular one of the outdoor units connected with the indoor units, and accumulating integral power consumption of the respective indoor units by adding the operating power consumption and standby power consumption thereof. The power control method is adapted to determine whether the respective multi-air conditioners are in operation or not to allocate a larger portion of available power to multi-air conditioners in operation through power redistribution. Thus, power consumption states of the respective multi-air conditioners can be more accurately identified in real time, and power management of the multi-air conditioners can be efficiently performed.

    • Disclosed herein are a building management system (BMS) and an operating method thereof. A BMS controller of a LonWorks network integrally controls a multi-air conditioner system which uses a different communication scheme, without modification of the structure thereof. The building management system comprises a BMS controller (50) for centrally controlling subsystems (60 and 70) installed in the building and connected to a LonWorks network (N2), an air conditioner system (70) including a plurality of outdoor units (71) and a plurality of indoor units (72) connected to the outdoor units, and a Lon gateway (80) for converting data of an air conditioner system network (N1) into data of the LonWorks network (N2), and vice versa, to enable the BMS controller (50) to centrally control the air conditioner system (70). The building management system can incorporate a multi-air conditioner system which utilizes a different communication technology, without modification. The building management system also facilitates low-cost installation of an integrated control system in the building because each one of the indoor units constituting the multi-air conditioner system can be separately controlled without the need for a communication module to be connected to each indoor unit.
