摘要： There is here disclosed a technique which can improve mechanical properties such as strength and impact resistance of molded articles without noticeably changing molding materials and rebuilding a molding apparatus. In a molding method in which the molding materials are fed to a mold disposed at one end of a cylinder while the molding materials in the cylinder are molten and kneaded, the molding materials can be molded while vibration is applied to the molding materials in a direction crossing a flow direction of the resin material at right angles. The vibration does not have to possess any node portion on a surface which contacts the molding material.

摘要： An optical cable has a plurality of one-groove spacers 3 which are twisted in one direction around a central member 1. Anti-tensile elements 2 are arranged in the central portion of the central member 1. Each one-groove spacer having a single groove which is linear lengthwise and substantially square in cross section and holding a stack of a plurality of optical fiber ribbons 4. The inner width and the height of the side walls of the groove of the one-groove spacer are set greater than the diagonal length of the stack. Therefore, the transmission loss becomes reducible because the contact portions of the optical fiber ribbons with respect to the side walls of the grooves vary in the longitudinal direction, thus preventing a specific number of optical fibers from being continuously subjected to edgewise pressure.

摘要： A styrene-based resin composition comprising (A) a styrene-based polymer and (B) a rubber-like polymer dispersed in the styrene-based polymer. The dispersed particles of the rubber-like polymer comprise a styrene-butadiene-based block copolymer comprising 5 to 95% by weight of a conventional diblock-type polymer and 95 to 5% by weight of a tapered block-type polymer, wherein the butadiene unit content of the styrene-butadiene-based block copolymer is 6 to 16% by weight, based on the weight of the composition. The particles have a weight ratio of gel content to rubber-like polymer of 1.1:1 to 4.0:1 and have a swelling index of 5 to 20. The particles have an area average diameter of 0.1 to 0.9 .mu.m, with a ratio of area particle diameter to number average particle diameter of 1.0 to 1.8. The styrene-based resin composition has a high Izod impact strength and a high drop-weight impact strength, and further has excellent gloss and stiffness properties.
