    • A dielectric ceramic composition consists essentially of a basic composition of a ternary system, Pb(Mg.sub.1/2 W.sub.1/2)O.sub.3 -PbTiO.sub.3 -PbZrO.sub.3, and 0.05 to 6.5 wt % of an antireducing agent incorporated therein. The basic composition comprises a main component represented by the general formula: xPb(Mg.sub.1/2 ; W.sub.1/2)O.sub.3 -yPbTiO.sub.3 -zPbZrO.sub.3 wherein x, y and z are mole percentages of the respective components, and 0.3 to 2.0 wt % of ZnO contained therein. The main component has a composition falling within the area of a polygen ABCD defined by points A(52.0, 44.0, 4.0), B(47.0, 38.3, 15.0), C(44.0, 40.0, 16.0), D(49.0, 46.0, 5.0) in the attached figure. The antireducing agent has a composition expressed by the general formula:.alpha.Li.sub.2 O+.beta.RO+.gamma.B.sub.2 O.sub.3 +(1-.alpha.-.beta.-.gamma.)SiO.sub.2wherein RO is at least one oxide selected from the group consisting of BaO, CaO, SrO and MgO, .alpha., .beta. and .gamma. are mole fracions of the respective components and take each value within the following respective ranges, 0

    • An auxiliary agent for sintering ceramics comprises a basic composition consisting essentially of (a) 5 to 40 mol % of at least two oxides selected from the group consisting of ZnO, SnO and MnO, the sum of the contents of ZnO and MnO being not less than 5 mol %, (b) 5 to 40 mol % of at least one metal oxide expressed by the general formula: RO where R is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ba, Sr, Ca and Mg, and (c) 30 to 70 mol % of (Ti, Si)O.sub.2, the content of SiO.sub.2 being not less than 15 mol %. The auxiliary agent may contain at least one additive selected from the group consisting of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, B.sub.2 O.sub.3, CuO, Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5, Ta.sub.2 O.sub.5, Ga.sub.2 O.sub.3, GeO.sub.2, Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, ZrO.sub.2, WO.sub.3, MoO.sub.2, Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, CoO, NiO, PbO and Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3. The total content of the additive is not more than 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the basic composition, and the content of at least one metal oxide selected from the group consisting of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, ZrO.sub.2, WO.sub.3, MoO.sub.2, Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, CoO, NiO, PbO and Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3 should be not more than 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the basic composition. The auxiliary agent may further contain 2 to 45 mol % of Li.sub.2 O. SnO and MnO may be omitted from the basic composition.
