摘要： In order to produce and store a pattern of reference words for use in a speaker-dependent speech recognition system, the system prompts the operator of the system to speak standard words in a predetermined sequence. For this purpose, a prestored standard word is spoken by the system with a predetermined length, power and rhythm, and the operator then repeats the standard words while attempting to simulate the same predetermined length, power and rhythm. The standard word repeated by the operator is detected and processed to determine whether it meets a certain resemblance criteria with respect to the standard word as spoken by the system. If the standard word repeated by the operator does not meet the resemblance criteria, the system repeats the same standard word to prompt the operator to try again; and, if the standard word repeated by the operator meets the resemblance criteria, it is stored as a reference word. This operation is repeated for each of the sequence of prestored standard words.

摘要： To reliably detect a failure even when the failure occurs at a part of a line or in a mating apparatus, a transmission control portion transmits a link-up signal for confirming connection by the mating apparatus to a transfer path during the period in which data is not transmitted, in accordance with the instruction from a line control portion. Receiving the link-up signal flowing through the transfer path, the reception control portion confirms that no failure exists in the mating apparatus and in the transfer path or in the apparatus, and sends this notice to the line control portion. When not receiving the link-up signal, the line control portion reports the failure to the mating apparatus by intentionally stopping transmission of the link-up signal through another transfer path. To examine the operation condition of the line, a specific signal that can be sent during the period in which the data is not transmitted, and represents whether or not the line is utilizable is used as the link-up signal.

摘要： A server system constructed by a network using a known PBX in such a manner that information processing terminal equipment and server devices are held in normally-used extensions of the PBX together with other terminals such as telephones, facsimiles, etc. Logical channel numbers of packet links between the PBX and the information processing terminal equipment are assigned to electrically-connected server devices in association with each other and sent to users. The users sends server use data to corresponding destinations by data packets to which the logical channel numbers are applied. The PBX performs a packet exchange process such that the logical channel numbers are respectively associated with physical addresses of the server devices. If the PBX regards the users as improper users, then it does not inform the users of the logical channel numbers. When a logical channel number of a server device used at a user desire is recognized, the user can utilize the PBX server system even if a proper user does not know a physical address of the server device.

摘要： A packet communication method and a packet communication system capable of making an IPv4-compatible application operating on an information processing apparatus communicate with another information processing apparatus connected to an IPv6 network without using an address translation router. In the information processing apparatus connected to the IPv6 network incorporates, an IPv4-to-IPv6 protocol conversion control function is incorporated in a LAN driver. A protocol conversion control module receives an IPv4 packet from a protocol control module. When a send destination IPv4 address contained in a header of the packet is registered in an address translation table incorporated in the protocol conversion control module, an IPv6 address is generated to be sent onto a LAN. Unless the send destination IPv4 address contained in the packet header is registered in the address translation table incorporated in the protocol conversion control module, the IPv4 packet as received is intactly sent onto the LAN.
