    • An electrically powered vehicle wherein the electric power may be provided by an auxiliary electric motor with power assist being determined by a manual force applied by an operator for manually propelling the vehicle. The vehicle control includes a method for determining when the vehicle is being started from a stop and for providing a gradual application of electric power assist during such start-up. In addition, if the operator calls for an abrupt change in power assist, the actual power assist is applied only gradually to provide smoother operation. The system also has self-checking functions and the electric power assist is disabled in response to certain types of failures. However, the operator is warned in advance that the power will be shut down so as to avoid emergency situations. The self-checking provides an arrangement for checking when the speed sensor is inoperative by sensing certain output characteristics of the speed sensor and the force application. In addition, the device precludes the application of electric power assist under conditions when the battery might be depleted and when the vehicle is not actually moving. Various arrangements are provided for also checking the output of the battery and precluding power assist or controlling the power assist, depending upon the state of the battery. In addition, the vehicle may include other electrical accessories, and these are powered by an auxiliary battery. The auxiliary battery, however, may be charged from the main battery.

    • A multiband mobile unit communication apparatus is disclosed which comprises: an antenna for receiving 1st and 2nd bands of radio wave SIGs including quadrature modulation SIGs; a 1st LO CKT for generating a 1st LO SIG; 1st and 2nd receiving CKTs for generating 1st and 2nd IF SIGs from the 1st and 2nd bands of radio wave SIGs using the 1st LO SIG respectively; a switching CKT responsive to a switching control SIG indicative of 1st and 2nd modes for outputting the 1st IF SIG in the 1st mode and outputting the 2nd IF SIG in the 2nd mode; a 2nd LO CKT for generating 2nd and 3rd LO SIGs in the 1st and 2nd modes respectively; and a quadrature demodulation CKT for demodulating and outputting quadrature SIGs from an output from the switching CKT using the 2nd and third LO SIGs in the 1st and 2nd modes respectively. The 2nd LO CKT comprises: a local oscillator for generating a 4th LO SIG, a FRQ divider for dividing the 4th LO SIG with a given divisor and generating the 2nd LO SIG; and a switch for outputting the 2nd LO SIG in the 1st mode and outputting the 4th LO SIG as the 3rd LO SIG in the 2nd mode in response to the switching control SIG. The given divisor corresponds to a ratio between center FRQs of the 1st and 2nd IF SIGs. The 2nd LO CKT may change the LO FRQ by switchably connecting resonating elements to an oscillator.

    • An electronic exposure control apparatus for a camera includes a setting means to set the exposure factor, a compression means connected to said setting means, for compressing the above-mentioned exposure factor logarithmically and an analogue-digital conversion means, being connected to said compression means, and generating a pulse number which corresponds to the output from the compression means. Also included is a first counter, which is connected to the output of the above-mentioned analogue-digital conversion means, for counting the pulse number from the above-mentioned analogue-digital conversion means, a pulse generating means, a binary counter having plural number of bits and connected to the output of the above-mentioned pulse generating means, wherein said counter counts the pulse number from the above-mentioned pulse generating means in association with shutter release, and the output of the counter is connected to the first counter for resetting the memorized content of the first counter. A coincidence detection means is connected to the output of the binary counter, wherein said means generates a signal when the memorized content of the first counter is reset, and a control means is connected to the above-mentioned coincidence detection means, wherein the opening and closing of the shutter is controlled by the signal from the above-mentioned coincidence detection means.
