    • A clock signal is frequency-modulated and an image processing operation is executed synchronously with the frequency-modulated clock signal to generate image data which is stored in a memory. Image data written in the memory is read synchronously with a clock signal having a fixed frequency. The image data written in the memory synchronously with the frequency-modulated clock signal is therefore converted into the image data synchronizing with the clock signal having a fixed frequency. Data subjected to image processing synchronously with the frequency-modulated clock signal can be output on the recording apparatus side without any practical problem.

    • To enable a user to easily approximate a portable information device to a position where the portable information device should be approximated so as to cause the portable information device and a communication apparatus to communicate with each other by wireless communication, there is provided a control method for controlling the communication apparatus, comprising: performing data transfer between the communication apparatus and the portable information device by the wireless communication through a communication unit; acquiring identification information for identifying the portable information device; and displaying position information which indicates the position where the portable information device should be approximated to the communication apparatus so that the portable information device identified by the acquired identification information and the communication unit perform the data transfer by the wireless communication.

    • In a network printer, in order to handle tincture variations, if all the waiting print jobs are held in two types of formats, that is, PDL and half-tone print data generated by expanding the PDL, a required memory capacity is increased. Moreover, if the tincture variations occurs, all the waiting print jobs need rendering again. When the print job is to be stored, the received PDL is expanded, continuous-tone data is generated, and the continuous-tone data is JPEG-compressed. If a compression rate is high, the print job (print image data) is stored in the JPEG format. Even if the compression rate is low, storage of only the PDL or of PDL and the half-tone print data is selected according to expansion time of the PDL.
