    • A toner has at least 100 parts by weight of binder resin and 0.1 to 15 parts by weight of colorant. The toner has a number average particle size (Dn) of 0.5 to 6.0 .mu.m, a particle size distribution coefficient (volume average particle size (Dv) / number average particle size (Dn)) of 1.0 to 1.3 and a variation coefficient of particle number distribution of 20% or less.The toner contains 0.1 to 5.0% by weight of methanol-soluble resin component extracted by the first Soxhlet extraction with methanol and 50 to 99% by weight of THF-soluble resin component extracted by a second Soxhlet extraction with tetrahydrofuran (THF) after the Soxhlet extraction with methanol, wherein the maximum glass transition point (Tg.sub.2) of the methanol-soluble resin component and the glass transition point (Tg.sub.1) of the THF-soluble resin component satisfies the following relation;0 (.degree.     • A process for producing toner particles is conducted by:preparing toner precursor particles containing at least binder resin and coloring agent; andspherizing the toner precursor particles to obtain toner particles;wherein spherizing steps include;(1) dispersing the toner precursor particles in an aqueous medium containing a dispersant, thereby preparing a disperse system (a);(2) dispersing oil droplet particles containing a softening agent into an aqueous medium, thereby preparing a disperse system (b);(3) preparing a mixed disperse system (c) by adding the disperse system (a) to the disperse system (b), and causing the softening agent to be absorbed by the toner precursor particles in the mixed disperse system (c); and(4) removing the softening agent from the toner precursor particles.

    • A two component-type developer for electrophotography showing improved electrophotographic performances and also free from carrier adhesion (undesirable carrier transfer to the photosensitive member and recording materials) is constituted by using a magnetic carrier of 5-100 .mu.m in particle size. The carrier has a bulk density of at most 30 g/cm.sup.3, and magnetic properties including: a magnetization of 30-150 emu/cm.sup.3 under a magnetic field strength of 1000 oersted, a magnetization (residual magnetization .sigma..sub.r) of at least 25 emu/cm.sup.3 under a magnetic field strength of zero oersted, a coercive force of less than 300 oersted, and a relationship of:.vertline..sigma..sub.1000 -.sigma..sub.300 .vertline./.sigma..sub.1000 .ltoreq.0.40wherein .sigma..sub.1000 and .sigma..sub.300 denote magnetizations under magnetic field strength of 1000 oersted and 300 oersted, respectively.

    • A magnetic coated carrier suitable for constituting a two-component type developer for use in electrophotography is composed of magnetic coated carrier particles comprising magnetic coated carrier particles comprising magnetic carrier core particles each comprising a binder resin and metal oxide particles, and a coating layer surface-coating each carrier core particle. The straight silicone resin includes trifunctional silicon and difunctional silicon in an atomic ratio of 100:0-40:60.
