    • A method for forming within a Field Effect Transistor (FET) for use within an integrated circuit a polycide gate electrode. There is first provided a semiconductor substrate. Formed upon the semiconductor is a patterned polysilicon layer. Formed then upon the semiconductor substrate and the patterned polysilicon layer is a blanket insulator layer. The blanket insulator layer is then patterned through planarizing to form a patterned planarized insulator layer while simultaneously exposing the surface of the patterned polysilicon layer. Finally, there is formed upon the exposed surface of the patterned polysilicon layer a patterned metal silicide layer. The patterned metal silicide layer and the patterned polysilicon layer form a polycide gate electrode. The metal silicide layer within the polycide gate electrode is not susceptible to encroachment upon adjoining insulator spacers or source/drain regions within the Field Effect Transistor (FET) within which is formed the polycide gate electrode.

    • A portable computing device is disclosed. The device is based upon a laptop computer according to the preferred embodiment. The device comprises a twistable display screen. The device is operated as a general purpose computer when the display screen is pivoted to a position facing a keyboard. The device is used as a special purpose computer in a tablet form when the display is pivoted to a position on the top face of the device. The special purpose computer may be a media player, an e-book reader, a game console, a digital camera, a mobile phone, an e-mail reader and a web browser. The special purpose computer consumes substantially less power than the general purpose computer by employing a less complicated operating system.

    • An intelligent solar panel array comprises a master panel and a plurality of client panels connected by a predetermined scheme. All panels further comprise a plurality of solar energy collection modules, a supporting, pivoting and tilting mechanism, a controller and a short range communication unit. The communication units of panels form an ad hoc communication network. The optimized position of the master panel towards the sun is determined by measuring current-voltage curve at multiple positions. The optimized position is transmitted to all client panels through the ad hoc communication network. All panels therefore generate electrical power based upon the optimized positions towards the sun.

    • A video delivery system includes a tablet computer and one or two detachable projectors. In one embodiment, video files are transferred from the tablet computer to the projectors when they are connected. The tablet computer is used as a remote control that controls an operation of delivering a video portion of the video file through the projectors and an audio portion through the tablet computer in a synchronized manner. In one aspect, the two projectors may be positioned to project two adjacent screens that present different portions of images. In another embodiment, positions of the projectors attached to the tablet computer may be adjusted to deliver desired screens.
