    • A troubleshooting method and a troubleshooting apparatus are disclosed. The troubleshooting method includes: sending a forward detection message to at least one node on a path to be detected, where the forward detection message carries information about a forward path to be detected and information about a backward path to be detected; and detecting faults according to a backward detection message returned by the at least one node. With the troubleshooting method and the troubleshooting apparatus disclosed herein, troubleshooting operations such as fault detection and fault location can be performed for the forward path and the backward path that require bidirectional path detection.

    • A method and an apparatus for failure notification are provided. The method includes: sending, when it is detected that a failure occurs in a multicast label switch path, failure information to a downstream node of a multicast tree where a failed point locates, where the multicast label switch path is established based on a multicast label distribution protocol; and forwarding the failure information through the downstream node, where the failure information arrives at a leaf node of the multicast tree where the failed point locates. According to the method and the apparatus for failure notification of the present invention, finally, the failure information is transmitted to a leaf node. After the failure information is obtained, the leaf node may take appropriate measure to ensure the normal service and improve the reliability of the network.

    • A method for protecting the head node of a Point to Multipoint Label Switched Path (P2MP LSP) includes: a Backup Head Node (BHN) establishes a backup LSP from the BHN to all Merge Points (MPs), where the backup LSP bypasses a Master Head Node (MHN); the MHN forwards data along an LSP already established between the MHN and the MPs; when a head node switchover condition is met, the BHN is switched to a master mode to forward data along the backup LSP established between the BHN and the MPs. A system and apparatus for protecting the head node are also provided. With the head node protection solution provided by the present disclosure, the head node is well protected and the protection mechanisms for the P2MP LSP are therefore more complete. This can further promote the scale deployment of P2MP systems.

    • The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for abstracting logical topology information of a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) network. The method includes: obtaining a set of Points of Presence (POPs) of peer clients in the P2P network; using a relevant algorithm of a routing protocol to calculate a best path between any two POPs in the set of POPs and a weight value of the best path; and collecting calculation results of the best path and the weight value that are obtained on each POP to obtain a set of abstract logical topology records of the P2P network. The embodiments of the present invention provide a universal and efficient method for abstracting logical topology information, which greatly reduces network topology information that needs to be transmitted, mitigates a risk of exposing lower-layer network topology information, and transmits the network topology information to a P2P application server securely and concisely.
