摘要： A saddle for the bar of a bar-type weight has a bar-receiving portion, arms that incline upwardly and away from that portion, and a socket-forming portion which defines a socket that extends downwardly relative to those arms to telescope downwardly over the upper end of a rod-like support; and that saddle is unitary in nature and is wholly devoid of joints between any of the bar-receiving portion, the arms and the socket-forming portion. The bar-receiving portion has a part thereof which is located above the level of one edge thereof so a gap will always exist between that edge and the bar of the bar-type weight. The upper ends of the arms have horizontally-directed outwardly-extending lips that increase the effective area of the saddle which can be engaged by the bar of a bar-type weight without directing that bar away from that saddle.

The grill has a metal casting; and the igniter has a bracket that mechanically secures and electrically connects that igniter to that casting, and also constitutes one arcing contact of that igniter. One contact of the spark source is electrically connected to the casting; and a wire connects the other contact of that spark source to a second arcing contact of the igniter. A shielding portion of the igniter overlies the confronting ends of the arcing contacts to keep fat, meat juices and other drippings from engaging those confronting ends.

摘要： A gas barbeque grill is constructed in a pre-assembled condition and positioned in a shipping carton. A liquid propane (LP) tank is also positioned in the shipping carton at one end. Following purchase, the tank is removed from the shipping carton, without removing the grill, for filling prior to arrival at the user's home. The pre-assembled grill is thereafter removed from the shipping carton for set-up at the user's home including attachment of the filled tank to the grill for immediate operation of the grill, after set-up of same. The grill is removed from the shipping carton by placing spaced leg supports for the grill on a supporting surface and lifting the shipping carton up and away from the grill. Leg supports preferably constitute four spaced leg supports arranged in a rectangular pattern for supporting the grill. The grill is pivotally mounted proximate an upper end of two spaced leg supports along one side of and within the rectangular pattern of four spaced leg supports. This enables the grill to be suspended from the two spaced leg supports in a lower pivot position between the four leg supports during shipping. During set-up at the user's home, the grill is pivoted to an upper horizontal position and secured to the two other leg supports also proximate an upper end thereof in general horizontal alignment with the pivotal mounting on the other leg supports. The grill is thus maintained in a stable and secure horizontal position during operation and use.

摘要： The present invention provides a uniformly-heated heating chamber for a barbecue grill by mounting two U-shaped burners within that heating chamber so the arms thereof extend toward each other to help define a generally rectangular annulus which surrounds the middle of that heating chamber and which is displaced inwardly from the walls of that heating chamber. Gas-emitting ports are provided in the inner and outer faces of the arms and ends of those burners; and hence a central area of burning gas and a generally rectangular surrounding annulus of burning gas are provided by those burners. As a result, burning gas fills substantially all of the length and width of the heating chamber to provide uniform heat across that length and width.

摘要： A barbecue grill makes it possible to effect quick and easy extinguishing of any flames that could develop as drops of fat fell into the heating chamber of that grill, by having a grid which normally holds meat in position over that heating chamber but which can be shifted horizontally to move that meat away from that heating chamber, and thereby keep further drops of fat from falling into that heating chamber. When the flames subside, as they will quickly do, that grid can be shifted to shift the meat back into position over the heating chamber to permit further cooking of that meat. Also, the barbecue grill enables a person to use his or her hands in placing all kinds of meat on the grid by permitting that grid to be shifted horizontally away from the heating chamber whenever any meat is to be placed on it. Further, the grill enables a user to shift the grid, and the meat thereon, away from the heating chamber whenever that user wishes to test, turn or remove that meat. In addition, the meat-supporting grid can be disposed wholly in register with the heating chamber, wholly out of register with that heating chamber, or in any intermediate position to enable all of the meat to receive full heat from that heating chamber, to enable none of that meat to receive heat from that heating chamber, or to enable just some of that meat to receive heat from that heating chamber.

Within the carton, end pads are positioned at opposite ends of the leg supports between the leg supports and the carton. The end pads include associated cushion elements, integral with or separate from the end pads, which extend both longitudinally and laterally beyond the leg supports. The cushioned elements are constructed to absorb shock in all directions when the carton is moved, tipped over or dropped. The end pads include associated partitions and grill component holding areas for separating and holding various grill components used with the pre-assembled barbeque grill. To keep the grill housing from moving relative to the leg supports during shipping and handling, a grill housing supporting pad is provided and further may include associated cushion elements for absorbing shock during shipping and handling.
