    • Optical splitter modules and related mounting brackets, assemblies, and methods for mounting optical splitter modules in fiber optic equipment housings are disclosed. In certain embodiments, the optical splitter modules can be configured to be “universal,” if desired, meaning they are configured to employ certain common or similar dimensions or form factors. In this manner, the optical splitter modules can be installed in different types of fiber optic equipment housings that would otherwise support different form factors. The optical splitter modules are configured to be disposed and supported in different types of fiber optic equipment housings by being configured to be received in a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is designed to support the form factor of the universal optical splitter module, but also configured to be compatibly installed in a particular type of fiber optic equipment housing in which the optical splitter module is desired to be installed.

    • Fiber optic housings having a removable top, and related components and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, a fiber optic housing is provided having a removable top or cover. In one embodiment, the fiber optic housing comprises a top, a bottom, a right side, and a left side defining at least one interior chamber configured to support fiber optic equipment. The top comprises a base and a cover in one embodiment. The cover of the top is configured to provide a gap between the base and the cover such that at least one of the right side and the left side of the fiber optic housing is configured to be slidably engaged into and out of the gap. In this manner, the top can be easily removed to provide access to the interior of the fiber optic housing.

    • A fiber optic strain relief device is provided. The device has a base that attaches to a piece of equipment and/or hardware. A length of strap positions in the base and forms a loop. The loop is adapted to at least partially encircle a portion of a cable positioned at the base. A strap tightener incrementally shortens the length of the strap, reducing the loop and tightening the strap around the cable. The strap tightener may be a ratchet assembly comprising an actuator, a ratchet cap, a pin, a ratchet lock and a release. The length of strap inserts into a slot in the pin. The ratchet assembly operates to tighten the length of strap encircling the portion of the cable by incrementally rotating the pin. The release allows the strap to be loosened around the fiber optic cable.
