    • An apparatus, and an associated methodology, for facilitating paging of a mobile station pursuant to a two-step paging procedure. A unique identifier of the mobile station that is to be paged is hashed into a first group of hashed values and at least a second group of hashed values. The first group of hashed values are used by page message generator to generate a page on a first paging channel. And, the second group of values are used by a page message generator to generate a page on a second paging channel. All of the bits of the unique identifier are sent to page the mobile station. The mobile station determines therefrom whether the mobile station has been paged.

    • A method of inputting an electronic address into a text field on a communications device is disclosed, as well as a device and controller for implementing the method. The method includes: receiving, through a user input interface of the device, an input corresponding to a predetermined delimiter; selecting a non-text symbol character from a set of non-text symbol characters in dependence on a number of times the input corresponding to the predetermined delimiter has been repetitively input without any intervening inputs; and adding the selected non-text symbol character to the text field of the communications device when an input other than that corresponding to the predetermined delimiter is received.

    • A system and method for automatically determining whether or not original message text should be included in a reply electronic message is provided. In one broad aspect, the original message text is included in the reply electronic message as a function of the original message. In a first example, the original message text is included as a function of a domain name of an originating address. In a second example, the original message text is included as a function of maintained information used for determining if original message text should be included in reply electronic messages. In a third example, the original message text is included as a function of an indicative encoding inside the original electronic message. In a fourth example, the original message text is included as a function of maintained information used for detecting address aliases. In another broad aspect, the original electronic message is encoded with an indicative encoding as to whether or not a reply electronic message should include the original message text.
