    • A mechanism for offloading the management of receive queues in a split (e.g. split socket, split iSCSI, split DAFS) stack environment, including efficient queue flow control and TCP/IP retransmission support. An Upper Layer Protocol (ULP) creates receive work queues and completion queues that are utilized by an Internet Protocol Suite Offload Engine (IPSOE) and the ULP to transfer information and carry out send operations. As consumers initiate receive operations, receive work queue entries (RWQEs) are created by the ULP and written to the receive work queue (RWQ). The ISPOE is notified of a new entry to the RWQ and it subsequently reads this entry that contains pointers to the data that is to be received. After the data is received, the IPSOE creates a completion queue entry (CQE) that is written into the completion queue (CQ). After the CQE is written, the ULP subsequently processes the entry and removes it from the CQE, freeing up a space in both the RWQ and CQ. The number of entries available in the RWQ are monitored by the ULP so that it does not overwrite any valid entries. Likewise, the IPSOE monitors the number of entries available in the CQ, so as not overwrite the CQ.

    • A portable stereo cassette tape player is connected to an FM automobile radio through an adapter having an input plug which is inserted into the audio signal output terminal of the tape player and an output plug which is inserted into the cigarette lighter receptacle of the car. The direct voltage from the car battery is filtered and connected to a frequency modulation oscillator stage in which the audio signal from the tape player frequency modulates the oscillator. The weak frequency modulated signal is coupled into the FM car radio through the cigarette lighter receptacle by stray capacitance of the wires connected to the common power source or battery and proximity to the antenna and input stage of the radio. A tuning capacitor tunes the oscillator frequency to an unused location on the dial between local FM radio stations so that the audio signal can be heard on the normal frequency modulation radio band over the radio loud speakers.

    • Apparatus and method for, inter alia, training a sprinter to transition from a crouched starting position through a drive phase to a running phase. At least 3 height and width indicators are positioned in front of a sprinter at pre-set intervals with pre-determined height and with settings. The width and height settings are based upon certain anatomical features of the sprinter. Positioning the height and width indicator should be at increasing heights approximately one foot, nine feet, and fifteen feet in front of the sprinter in a normal starting position. Apparatus of the invention used in single sets or multiple sets at fixed height can be used to train athletes such as football and basketball players to back pedal or shuffle while maintaining a crouched posture.
