摘要： The invention provides a composition comprising an ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated diene interpolymer, which has the following properties: an Mz(abs)/Mz(Conv) value greater than 1.35; an Mz(BB)/Mw(abs) value greater than 1.6; and a non-conjugated diene content less than 10 weight percent, based on the total weight of the interpolymer. The invention also provides a process for forming a crosslinked composition, said process comprising: (a) forming a polymeric admixture comprising at least the following: (A) an ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated diene copolymer rubber (B) which has the following properties: an Mz(abs)/Mz(Conv) value less than 1.3; an Mz(BB)/Mw(abs) value greater than 1.6, but less than 2.5; and an Mw(abs) value less than 350,000 g/mole; and (B) a coupling amount of (i) at least one poly(sulfonyl azide) or (ii) at least one peroxide; and (b) heating the resulting admixture to a temperature at least the decomposition temperature of the crosslinking agent. The invention also provides a process for forming a shaped article, said process comprising: (a) forming a polymeric admixture comprise of at least one ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated diene interpolymer, at least one sulfur-based curative or organic peroxide-based crosslinking agent, and, optionally, a process oil, carbon blacks, additional inorganic fillers, organic fillers, cure accelerators, and/or foaming agents; (b) shaping the resulting admixture; (c) heating the resulting admixture to a temperature at least the decomposition temperature of the sulfur-based cure agent or the peroxide crosslinking agent.

摘要： A novel flooring composition was developed based on a blend comprising: a) an elastomer; b) a random propylene/alpha-olefin copolymer; c) a cross linking agent; and optionally d) a melt strength enhancing polymer. This composition achieves a unique balance of properties, exhibiting often-conflicting performance requirements. These include low gloss and excellent pattern duplication in embossing, low modulus, minimal odor, excellent grain acceptance and abrasion resistance, while remaining thermoformable and maintaining minimal shift in viscosity during recycle.

摘要： The present disclosure is directed to polymeric compositions which form gloss resins suitable for thermoforming applications. The polymeric compositions include a reaction product composed of a clarified random propylene/α-olefin copolymer, a coupling agent, and optionally an elastomer. Methods for adjusting the melt flow rate of the gloss resin are also disclosed. Adjustment of the gloss resin melt flow rate advantageously enables scrap thermoplastic material containing the gloss resin to be recycled in a thermoforming operation.

摘要： The instant invention provides polyethylene compositions having reduced plate out, and films made therefrom having reduced blooming. The polyethylene composition suitable for film applications according to the present invention comprises the melt blending product of: (a) an ethylene based polymer; (b) a first antioxidant system comprising one or more antioxidants selected from the group consisting of Octadecyl-3-(3,5-di-tert.butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-propionate; Pentaerythritol Tetrakis (3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionate); and combinations thereof; (c) a second antioxidant system comprising a liquid phosphite corresponding to the formula [4-(2-methylbutan-2-yl)phenyl]x[2,4-bis(2-methylbutan-2-yl)phenyl]3-x phosphate, wherein x=0, 1, 2, 3, or combinations thereof; and (d) optionally one or more neutralizing agents.

摘要： A method for improving the efficacy of polar additives used in polyolefins is disclosed. The method is related to the addition of an effective amount of a co-additive compound of the formula R1(OCH2CH2)xOH to the polyolefin prior to forming the film, wherein R1 is a straight or branched chain alkyl of 20 to 100 carbon atoms and x is 2 to 100. The presence of these materials in polyolefin resins allows less polar additives to be used without losing their efficacy and also leads to improved optical properties for films made from such resins.
