A method may include detecting an occurrence of an event associated with a storage resource disposed in an array of storage resources. The method may further include transitioning the storage resource into a specified power state in response to the detection of the occurrence of the event. A system may include a storage resource and a power management module communicatively coupled to the storage resource. The storage resource may be disposed in an array of storage resources. The power management module may be operable to detect an occurrence of an event associated with the storage resource, and may be operable to transition the storage resource into a specified power state in response to the detection of the occurrence of the event.

摘要： Information handling system security is maintained by locking the information handling system from boot of an operating system with a service processor of the information handling system. The service processor obtains authorization for boot from a third party authentication service by providing authentication information to the authentication service and requiring a successful authentication for boot. For example, the service processor releases a token upon successful authentication to authorize boot. In one embodiment, the authentication service sends a token to the service processor for the service processor to use to authorize boot.

摘要： An improved system and method is disclosed for making the Common Information Model (CIM), produced by the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), more flexible and extensible without requiring changes to it or its existing implementations. MultipleInheritance associations are implemented to define extension abstract classes for managed element information and to create static and dynamic add-in classes, all operable to reference the CIM schema class. Ambiguity is mitigated by not allowing properties of different data types to have the same name in super classes that are used for MultipleInheritance associations. Data integrity is facilitated by merging class properties of the same name and data type through the use of a Min algorithm. Concrete user classes are derived from new abstract classes such that management functionality is enabled for managed element properties. A polymorphic object pointer is implemented using a PolymorphicPointer association to facilitate traversal or the resulting class hierarchies and inheritance trees.

摘要： A system and method is disclosed for reducing the effects of cross-profile crosscutting concerns to enable just-in-time configuration updates and real-time adaptation in the Common Information Model (CIM). The CIM object model is thereby allowed to adapt to dynamic role, resource, or service changes such as logging, debugging, security or quality of service (QOS). An aspect syntactic analyzer is implemented to extend a CIM Managed Object Format (MOF) to implement aspect and dynamic pattern extensions. CIM MOF extensions comprise an Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) join point. The join point can be implemented as an association class referencing two classes or as a method call of a first class to a property of a second class. The two classes may reside in the same or different CIM profiles. A CIM repository is accessed by a CIM Object Manager (CIMOM) comprising an aspect weaver implemented to enable AOP operations between CIM clients and data providers. The CIM providers comprise an Aspect Semantic Analyzer to similarly enable AOP operations comprising CIM MOF aspect and dynamic pattern extensions. As a result, cross-profile crosscutting concerns are reduced, thereby allowing dynamic changes in the CIM model and enabling just-in-time configuration changes and real-time environment adaptation.

摘要： An information handling system includes a processor, system memory, and a storage medium. The storage medium includes an object manager that is accessible to a client management application. The object manager includes first and second sets of class instances instantiated in first and second vendor namespaces, respectively. An uber set of class instances is instantiated in an uber namespace. A class instance in the uber set of class instances is associated with a vendor namespace class instance in one of the first or second sets of class instances. An uber provider instantiates objects in the uber namespace. The uber provider services a client management application request by indicating an action and a class including identifying instances of the class in the first and second vendor namespaces and causing the action to be performed with respect to the identified class instances.
