    • Using rollers having roller members which are adjacent on both sides to a center flexible longitudinal section capable of remaining in a respective bent position and have at each end an outer longitudinal section, previously perm or water-waved (pretreated) hair sections of a strand of hair are spirally rolled up, starting with the tips of the hair, first onto one outer longitudinal section, continuing then also onto the center longitudinal section, and finally the previously untreated hair section (hairline) is rolled substantially onto the other outer longitudinal section. The one outer longitudinal section is then bent approximately normally relative to the other outer longitudinal section such that the one outer longitudinal section and a portion of the center longitudinal section with the rolled-up previously treated hair section project substantially vertically upwardly from the head. Intensive-action perm or water-wave liquid is then applied only to the previously untreated hair section (hairline) rolled up substantially onto the other outer longitudinal section. The roller member of a roller (1) particularly suited for carrying out the process has a first longitudinal section (2) made of a substantially rigid material, which a fixing element (9, 10) is arranged on or engages. The first longitudinal section (2) is connected at one end to a second flexible longitudinal section (3) made of a flexible member (5) of a viscoelastic plastic, which flexible member (5) is arranged around a wire core (4).

    • A collectorless DC motor with a horizontal air gap, particularly a low-speed motor for a direct drive of recording and/or reproducing devices has its rotor axle supported within an axial bore of the motor housing, with the motor housing made of plastic. A tachogenerator is disposed about the inner cylinder formed by the rotating permanent magnet ring of the motor. The stator winding and the magnetic return structure are fixedly arranged on the motor housing, which is also provided with bores for attaching the motor or installing it into the device. Obviating of machining sequences, simplification of assembly and direct support of the rotor axle in the motor housing all contribute to a reduction in manufacturing cost.

    • Poor wet fastness properties and unsatisfactory fastness to thermofixing of dyeings on flame-retardant PES fibers with conventional disperse dyestuffs preclude the deployment of textile material of this type in the industrial wear and contract business, such as for utilitarian textiles, sportswear or the like. The reduced boil-wash stability of such disperse dyestuffs on the modified fibers can lead to washing problems because of the risk of bleeding.Using disperse dyestuffs which contain highly polarized groupings in the molecule for dyeing flame-retardant PES fibers substantially improves the dyeing results in respect of the fastness properties sought and hence opens up further areas of use for said types of fiber. The flame-resistant properties of the textile material are not impaired.
