摘要： A closure and container package are provided in which the closure has an elongated orifice. A spout cover disposed on an underside surface of the cap portion of the closure receives a spout portion disposed about the orifice. A spud urges the spout into contact with the spout cover to enhance contact therebetween. A snap hinge couples the cap with the closure body. The spout cover forms a sealing contact with an exterior surface of the spout to form an outside seal that does not become contaminated upon dispensing of the contents of the container. The spout cover includes a protrusion or bead on an inner surface that cooperates with a bead on the spout exterior surface to lock the cap in its fully closed position. An annular seal extending downwardly from a portion of the closure seals the closure head-space to present vapor infiltration and condensation therein.

摘要： A plastic dispensing closure includes an elongated dispensing spout that defines an interior passage and has a distal end terminating in a rim. A sealing member is integral with the dispensing spout and is frangibly connected to the distal end of the dispensing spout by frangible connecting structure in order to seal the interior passage and prevent fluid from leaking out of the closure before it is opened. A lever arm that is integral with the sealing member is oriented so as to extend upwardly from the sealing member. The frangible connecting structure is advantageously constructed and arranged to rupture when a predetermined torque is applied to the lever arm. The predetermined torque is calculated so as to minimize the likelihood of the closure being opened accidentally, while at the same time being convenient for a consumer to open.

摘要： A child resistant container assembly includes a container and a child resistant flip-top type closure that is secured onto the container. The flip-top type closure includes a main closure body having internal threading that is engaged with external threading that is provided on a neck portion of the container. A dispensing orifice is provided in the main closure body for dispensing a substance, such as detergent, from the container. Retention structure is provided for deterring removal of the closure main body from the container after the closure main body has been screwed onto the container. A lid member is hingedly mounted to the closure main body for movement between a first, closed position that covers the orifice and a second, open position wherein the dispensing orifice is uncovered and the substance within the container may be freely dispensed. A child safety interlock is advantageously provided for securing the lid member in the closed position until an unlocking action other than simply lifting the lid member is performed by a consumer.

The cap portion is connected to the body portion by two hinges and is rotatable about the two hinges so that a spout of the body portion may be inserted into the mouth without interference by the cap portion. The closure may include a tamper-evident band to visually indicate tampering with the contents of the fluid container. The closure may also include a pull-tab seal secured to the spout to prevent spillage and/or leakage of the contents of the fluid container.
