    • A flash guide tube arrangement utilized primarily in propellant charge igniters for large-caliber ammunition with laterally located openings from which the ignition gases, emitted by conventional ignition systems, exit, either for the ignition of an ignition booster charge or for the direct ignition of a propellant charge. Indentations emanate axially from these openings and extend into the interior of the flash guide tube, the depth of the individual indentations decreasing in the direction toward the rear end of the flash guide tube. The indentations are preferably radially arranged and several of such radially disposed indentations can be provided in the flash guide tube. The rear end of the flash guide tube can furthermore be constructed as a cone having its apex pointing toward the ignition system.

    • A short range trajectory round having an aerodynamic resistance which sharply increases at a predetermined time after discharge of the round from a barrel of a weapon. The round includes a body having a longitudinal axis and a forward tip portion and a rear base portion with at least one segment forming a part of the body and arranged for outward movement away from the longitudinal axis. The at least one segment at least partially delimits an inner cavity within the body terminating at a predetermined distance from the tip portion, and a plunger having a forward portion and a rearward portion is disposed within the cavity and arranged for movement in the longitudinal direction of the round between at least a rearward position and a forward position. the plunger is movable to the forward position in response to the firing of the round for form-lockingly engaging the at least one segment to prevent movement of the at least one segment away from the longitudinal axis of the round thereby to establish a first aerodynamic resistance for the round. The plunger is also movable toward the rearward position after discharge of the round from the barrel of the weapon for disengaging the at least one segment to enable outward movement of the at least one segment with respect to the longitudinal axis of the round and thereby establish at least a second aerodynamic resistance for the round which is greater than the first aerodynamic resistance.

    • A training cartridge has a synthetic resin projectile or dummy projectile wherein the projectile or dummy projectile is integrally molded to a synthetic resin sleeve or tube open at the rear end. The sleeve is inserted from the front end of a cartridge case of metal that is open at its front end. The sleeve is held within the cartridge case by drawing the cartridge case inwards, after insertion of the synthetic resin sleeve, in its frontal zone to form a conical case shoulder and a cylindrical case neck, which shoulder and neck encompass the synthetic resin sleeve in firm contact therewith. This arrangement achieves clean separation of the projectile from the remainder of the synthetic resin sleeve and/or avoids uncontrolled tearing off of parts of the synthetic resin sleeve.

    • Training ammunition for mortars having a projectile disposed in a cartridge case and provided with a propellant charge for being fired from a barrel insert of a dummy shell. An ejector charge is associated with the cartridge case and is provided with an ignition device and is arranged for ejecting the dummy shell together with the cartridge case from the mortar barrel. A flash hole is arranged between the propellant charge and the ejector charge, and an ignition jet conducting tube is disposed coaxially within the ejector charge and extends from the ignition device to the end of the ejector charge facing the flash hole. The ignition jet conducting tube is provided with at least one radial ignition aperture therethrough.
