    • A boosted braking system for a motor vehicle having a master cylinder (200) and a pneumatic booster (100). The master cylinder (200) causes an increase in pressure of brake fluid supplied to at least one wheel brake (300). The pneumatic booster (100) is controlled by the application of an input force (F2) to a control rod (26) to actuate the master cylinder (200). A main hydraulic piston (30) of the master cylinder (200) has a hollow cylinder (32) in which a reaction piston (34) slides in a leaktight and axial direction. The reaction piston (34) receives at least the input force (F2). An elastic member (46) located between the reaction piston (34) and hollow cylinder (32) exerts an elastic force for urging the reaction piston (34) toward the master cylinder (200). The reaction piston (34) delimits within the cylinder a reaction chamber (36) which is isolated from the interior volume (V) of the master cylinder (200). The reaction chamber (34) receives hydraulic pressure supplied by at least one sensor (G,G') sensitive to variations in at least on physical magnitude in response to variation in the input force (F2).

    • A pneumatic brake booster for a motor vehicle having a rigid casing (1) with a first shell (10) which points toward the front of the vehicle and a second shell (11) which points toward the rear of the vehicle. At least one through bolt (5) fastened to the front shell (10) and rear shell (11) by respective cohesive forces which joins the front shell (10) to the rear shell (11) in an axial direction by a compressive force which tends to pull the front shell (10) toward the rear shell (11). The cohesive force between the through bolt (5) and the front shell (10) wholly consists of an elastic force exerted by the rigid casing (1) on the through bolt (5) in reaction to the compressive force exerted on the front shell (10) and rear shell (11) by the through bolt (5). The through bolt (5) has a threaded end (50) which passes through the front shell (10). The through bolt (5) and front shell (10) are held together by the sole effect of a nut (6) which is screwed onto the end (50) of the through bolt (5) outside of the front shell (10). Should an impact force be applied to the front shell, the front shell (10) deform by independently moving and absorpting kinetic energy associated with the impact force to substantially eliminating the transmitting forces a driver of the vehicle as the through bolt remains stationary.

The tubular part (22) has at least one axial passage (37) which opens into the first chamber (14).     • A pneumatic servo for assisting braking. The servo has a casing with an axis of symmetry which is divided in leaktight fashion by a movable wall structure into a front chamber and a rear chamber. The front chamber is permanently connected to a source of partial vacuum while the rear chamber is connected selectively to the front chamber and to air in the surrounding environment by a three-way valve. A sleeve divided an annular bore located in a projection that extends through the movable wall through the casing into a static volume and a concentric annular volume. The sleeve engages the projection to position the three-way valve in the bore. A return spring located in the static volume engages the control rod while an end plug engages the sleeve to seal the static volume from the surrounding environment. The annular volume being is respectively connected by first and second openings to the surrounding environment and bore. In response to an input from the control rod, air flows from the environment past the three-way valve to the rear chamber. Fins located in the annular volume engage air in the annular volume creating a circular flow path for the air on moving from the first opening toward the second opening so as to reduce any abrupt change in direction of the moving air on being presented to the three-way valve that may create noise.
