    • An igniting device has a valve mechanism (8) which controls fuel supply from a gas reservoir, a gas injection nozzle (26) provided on a tip of a rod-like portion projecting from the valve mechanism(8) and a discharge electrode (32) which is disposed in the vicinity of the gas injection nozzle (26) and produces discharge spark to ignite the fuel gas discharged from the nozzle. A nozzle cover (30) made of non-conductive material is provided around the gas injection nozzle (26). The nozzle cover (30) is provided with a front end face (31a) disposed in front of the nozzle at a distance therefrom. The front end face (31a) is cut away at a portion opposed to the gas injection nozzle (26) and a portion opposed to the discharge electrode (32) to form an opening.

    • An igniting device has a gas reservoir 7, a valve mechanism 8, and a gas pipe 28 for leading fuel gas to a gas injection nozzle 26. A piezoelectric unit 20 generates a discharge voltage for producing an electric spark between the gas injection nozzle 26 and a discharge electrode 32 which is disposed near the gas injection nozzle. A covered wire 33 for electrically connecting the nozzle 26 with the piezoelectric unit 20 extends through the gas pipe 28 to reduce the effective cross-sectional area of the gas passage inside the gas pipe 28 with a high reliability and ease.

    • A piezoelectric gas lighter has an actuator cap which is mounted on an upper part of a lighter body to be movable up and down between upper and lower positions relative to the lighter body and is urged to the upper position. The actuator cap is depressed toward the lower position to discharge fuel gas stored in a reservoir provided in the lighter body and to actuate an ignition mechanism to ignite the fuel gas. A safety device for the piezoelectric gas lighter includes a projection which is provided on said upper part of the lighter body, a stopper member which is mounted on said actuator cap so that it can be movable relative to the actuator cap along a linear path between a locking position where a part of the stopper member is aligned with the projection and interferes with the projection to prevent downward movement of the actuator cap and a releasing position where said part of the stopper member is out of alignment with said projection and permits downward movement of the actuator cap and so that the actuator cap can be depressed by pushing downward the stopper member, and a spring which urges the stopper member to the locking position. The projection has a vertical surface which extends downward facing toward the releasing position of the stopper member and the vertical surface holds the stopper member in the releasing position when the actuator cap is below said upper position.

    • A gas reservoir, a valve mechanism for controlling gas supply from the reservoir and a piezoelectric unit are incorporated into a body portion assembly. A rod portion is formed by connecting a hard gas pipe to a gas injection nozzle provided in a tip of a rod-like metal tubular member and electrically connecting the gas injection nozzle on one end of the gas pipe and a terminal member on the other end of the same by way of a wire which extends through the gas pipe. The body portion assembly and the rod portion are assembled into a unit by engaging the base portion of the rod portion with an engagement portion of the body portion assembly, thereby connecting the gas pipe in the rod portion to the valve mechanism in the body portion assembly and electrically connecting the metal tubular member in the rod portion to the piezoelectric unit in the body portion assembly.

    • Provided is an aeration apparatus, which is enabled, when stopped, to prevent an air injection nozzle from being choked, by keeping the air injection nozzle out of contact with an object to be treated. An aeration apparatus (1) is dipped in the object and blows air to aerate the object. The aeration apparatus (1) comprises a lower cylinder (3) having such an opening (3a) formed at its lower end that the object flows thereinto, an air reservoir (4) formed of a space defined by an outer cylinder (4a) merging into the upper portion of the lower cylinder (3) and by an inner cylinder (4b) and a ceiling (4c) arranged at a spacing in that outer cylinder, an air feeding pipe (6) arranged in the ceiling (4c) and having a plurality of air injection nozzles (6a) for injecting air toward the object, a compressed air feeding pipe (7) connected outside of the air reservoir to the connecting pipe (6b) of the air feeding pipe (6) for feeding the compressed air, and an upper cylinder(S) merging into the inner cylinder (4b) of the air reservoir (4) and having an opening (5a) formed at its upper end for the object to flow out.
