    • There is provided a tap water purifier to be directly coupled to a faucet pipe, which includes a water purifying barel filled with a filter medium and a cylindrical valve body integral with the purifying barrel. The purifying barrel having opposite opening ends. The valve body is inserted in a cylindrical bore formed in a casing for rotation about the longitudinal axis of the valve body. The casing has tap water inlet port means, tap water outlet port means and purified water outlet port means formed therein, the tap water inlet port means and the purified water outlet port means opening to the cylindrical bore in the casing at an angular distance of 180.degree. from each other in the same axial position. The valve body includes first and second flow path means formed therein, the first flow path means being communicated with one opening end of the purifying barrel, the second flow path means being communicated with the other opening end of the purifying barrel. The first and second flow path means open to the peripheral surface of the valve body at an angular distance of 180.degree. from each other in an axial position corresponding to the opening positions of the tap water inlet port means and the purified water outlet port means. The valve body also includes third flow path means formed therein and communicated with the tap water outlet port means. The third flow path means opens to the peripheral surface of the valve body in an angular position between the opening positions of the first and second flow path means and in the axial position corresponding to the opening position of the tap water inlet port means.

    • A water purifier that performs back washing extremely effectively even when raw water contains a large amount of impurities includes an attachment main body including an inflow passage into which raw water from an inflow port flows, and first and second outflow passages through which water flows toward outflow ports; and a water purification main body that is attached rotatably to the attachment main body and includes a first flow passage, a second flow passage, and a third flow passage, a first filter member disposed between the first flow passage and the second flow passage and a second filter member disposed between the second flow passage and the third flow passage, wherein, when the attachment main body and the water purification main body are in a rotation position corresponding to a water purification mode, the first flow passage and the second flow passage communicate with the inflow passage and the first outflow passage, respectively, and when the attachment main body and the water purification main body are in a rotation position corresponding to a back washing mode, the third flow passage and the first flow passage communicate with the inflow passage and the second outflow passage, respectively, whereby the first filter member is back washed.

    • An image forming apparatus prevents the problem of reduced utilization efficiency of a waste fluid tank caused by the storage of waste fluids with high and low viscosities in the same open-type waste fluid tank. The image forming apparatus includes a first waste fluid tank for storing waste ink fluid ejected from a recording head, and a second waste fluid tank for storing waste ink fluid ejected into a cap of the recording head. The waste ink fluid ejected into the cap is guided to the second waste fluid tank via a tube. The second waste fluid tank is an airtight structure having an inlet at one end to which the tube is detachably connected via a needle or a valve. At the other end of the second waste fluid tank, there is disposed an opening communicating the inside and the outside of the tank.
