摘要： This storage system modifies the migration plan in accordance with the state of the migration destination when a plurality of volumes are migrated all at once. Migration-source volumes are migrated collectively to volumes inside the migration-destination storage apparatus. The user can make settings related to migration-source volumes and migration-destination volumes in a migration plan, and can establish a mid-process control plan for modifying the migration plan in the middle of processing. If a failure occurs in the migration-destination storage apparatus subsequent to the commencement of data migration processing, a processing method controller either cancels or temporarily halts the data migration processing, or changes the migration destination, on the basis of the mid-process control plan. When changing the migration destination, a previously selected alternate storage apparatus is selected as the new migration-destination storage apparatus. When a failure occurs in the alternate storage apparatus, yet another alternate storage apparatus is selected.

摘要： Provided is a computer system for identifying all physical resources which have been allocated to logical units before to be subject to shredding and for performing shredding on the identified physical resources. All the physical resources related to the physical resources specified by a user to be subject to data erasing are selected using usage history for the storage system. Moreover, a shredding task for the selected physical resources is generated according to configuration information of the storage system and shredding is performed based on the generated task. Consequently, the data is completely erased.

摘要： A data storage system satisfying user's requirements of a thin provisioned volume even if an event has occurred in which the requirements of the thin provisioned volume are not satisfied. When event information is sent from a storage subsystem to an administrative computer, the computer identifies physical resources affected by the event. A decision is made as to whether the identified physical resources satisfy the pool requirements of the thin provisioned volume. If the pool requirements are not satisfied, physical resources satisfying the pool requirements are selected from all physical resources. The administrative computer instructs the storage subsystem to move data. The storage subsystem moves data stored in physical resources affected by the event to physical resources satisfying the pool requirements and modifies the physical resource numbers given to the physical resources affected by the event to the physical resource numbers given to the physical resources satisfying the pool requirements.
