    • A liquid crystal panel 11 with built-in sensors includes, in a pixel array 18, a plurality of pixel circuits and a plurality of optical sensors arranged two-dimensionally. When the liquid crystal panel 11 is formed of CG silicon, the light receiving sensitivity of the optical sensor is high for blue light but becomes low for red or green light. A display data processing unit 12 corrects a gradation having a value that is less than or equal to a predetermined value, to high for a blue component contained in display data D1. The display data processing unit 12 corrects only data displayed in a recognition area set in a display screen out of the blue component. Thus, even when the display image is dark, it can be converted to an image easy to recognize, a touch position can be detected properly irrespective of the display image, and a change of the display image by correction can be limited to the change of a specific color in a specific area.

    • Provided is a display device characterized in that a display area can be prevented from appearing darker when the position of light-shielding sections are moved, while the control of voltages applied to electrodes is simplified. In the case where electrodes to which a specific voltage is applied are changed from a first electrode group (e.g., 52a) to a second electrode group (e.g., 52b, 58a, 58b), the voltage applied to the first electrode group is switched from the specific voltage to a reference voltage first, and thereafter, the voltage applied to the second electrode group is switched from the reference voltage to the specific voltage.

    • In a display device with optical sensors, a recognition processing portion (22) performs recognition processing on a scan picture generated by optical sensors (2), and calculates a position. A mode control portion (24) determines whether or not the mode is standby so that the recognition processing portion (22) is stopped from operating. At the time of transition to the standby mode, decimated image memory (25) stores a decimated image with a decreased number of pixels. The mode control portion (24) performs pixel-by-pixel comparison between the stored decimated image and a decimated image supplied anew, and exits the standby mode when the number of pixels whose difference in pixel values is greater than or equal to a first threshold is greater than or equal to a second threshold. Here, the first and second thresholds are appropriately set in accordance with an ambient luminance L from a luminance sensor (20), and therefore, any change in the image can be accurately distinguished from noise, thereby preventing the standby mode from being or not being cancelled by mistake.
