摘要： An information processing system which comprises an integral input and display unit comprising a display which enables an object to be selectively displayed at one of a plurality of positions in a display area and a tablet having an input face overlaid on a display face of the display, the input and display face being disposed substantially horizontally, and a display whose display face is disposed substantially uprightly, wherein when an object is presented to a user in the display area of the display, a display position of the object is determined in response to at least one of a state of the user, a state of the input and display face, and a display state of the display, thereby enabling the object to be displayed at an easy-to-use position relative to the user's position.

The present invention comprises an input arrangement 1 having patterns entered therein from a plurality of users, a dictionary 2 having patterns and attributes of the patterns belonging thereto defined therein, a recognizing arrangement 4 that receives the entered pattern and a group attribute and retrieves from among the patterns entered in the dictionary and having a corresponding group attribute to feed out the category, and a dictionary editing arrangement 5 for extracting a pattern used in common by a group before editing the pattern, such as entering it in the common dictionary, with the group having the user made to belong thereto. The invention allows the dictionary used to the pattern recognition to learn very efficiently and effectively.

摘要： The present invention relates to an information processing system using a coordinate detection device and displays, and more specifically to an input-display integrated information processing system which allows the displays to be carried like paper and to be freely laid out and stacked together on a desk (coordinate input device). The system includes a layout determining unit for determining a layout of the display on said coordinate detection device, wherein the layout determining unit further comprises a display position coordinate detector that detects where in the coordinate space of the coordinate detection device the display for displaying an information is located, and a coordinate converter that converts the information into display coordinates. The layout determination is done by using markers attached to three of the four corners of the display.

摘要： In an information processing apparatus having a handwriting input unit made of an integral structure of a handwriting coordinate input device and a plane display, the screen of the handwriting input unit is constituted by one or more areas, and there are provided a form defining unit for defining in advance a process operation for each area and a stroke interpretation executing unit for executing the process operation defined by the form defining unit when a handwritten stroke is inputted to the area. It becomes therefore possible to input data with a realistic sense of writing data on a paper with a pen without intercepting human thinking processes, while considerably improving man-machine interface.

Also the controller can transmit to the external device via an output. Thus, the display can display simultaneously information from the external device and information input to the touch pad. If the controller is arranged to carry out character recognition, the display device may then act as a hand-writing input device, with the handwritten information being incorporated with information in the external device and displayed.
