摘要： An electrodeless discharge lamp with a first coupling member includes a translucent discharge vessel in which a discharge gas is enclosed. A bobbin that includes a coil holding part for an induction coil and a vessel mounting part with a second coupling member is formed as a single piece. The coil holding part holds the induction coil on an outer surface thereof and is placed in proximity to the discharge vessel. The first and second coupling members are complementary and engage to mount the discharge vessel on the vessel mounting part of the bobbin to assure a long life and a positioning accuracy of the discharge vessel and the induction coil thereof.

摘要： A method of uniformly applying a phosphor onto the internal surface of a glass tube of spiral configuration having opening at its both ends. After an injection process is performed while glass tube (11) is held with openings (24,25) facing upward, the glass tube is turned upside down and held such that the openings are positioned in the inferior region. While rotating the glass tube around pivot axis (A), the phosphor suspension is caused to flow out. The glass tube is turned upside down once more and held to cause the openings to position in the superior region for a given period of time with the result that the phosphor suspension is caused to flow to uniformize the thickness thereof. Further once more the glass tube is turned upside down to cause the openings to position in the inferior region. In that state, a preliminary drying process is performed.

摘要： An arc tube is a connected bulb composed of three U-shaped bulbs that are set annularly on a holder and connected by a bridge connector to include a serpentine discharge path. Electrodes are provided at both ends of the connected bulb. A reflector is set in a space enclosed by the three U-shaped bulbs, with a predetermined positional relation with the holder. The reflector has a reflecting part which reflects light emitted from the arc tube, and a fixing part positioned at the end of the reflecting part. The holder has an insertion hole which allows the reflecting part to pass through but not the fixing part. The reflector is mounted to the holder by inserting the reflecting part into the insertion hole from the side of the holder opposite to the arc tube, and passing the reflecting part through the insertion hole to the other side.
