摘要： To maintain high bonding performance between two glass sheets by metal material, thereby to obtain high gas tightness and bonding strength. A glass panel includes a pair of glass sheets (1A, 1B) disposed in opposition to each other with forming a gap (V) therebetween, the peripheral edges of the opposed glass sheets (1A, 1B) being directly bonded to each other by metal material (5); wherein bonding faces (1Aa) in the opposed surfaces of the glass sheets (1A, 1B) to be bonded to the metal material (5) are worked so as to obtain an average surface roughness below 30 nm.

摘要： A display panel according to which exposure to a high temperature during manufacture can be prevented, and the weather resistance can be improved. An organic EL device 100 as the display panel is comprised of an alkali-free glass substrate 10, an organic EL laminated body 20 formed on the substrate 10, and a sealing plate 30 formed so as to cover the organic EL laminated body 20. The sealing plate 30 has formed thereon a 2.0 mm-wide peripheral projecting portion 31 around the periphery of a central recessed portion 32. The organic EL laminated body 20 is formed on the substrate 10, and is comprised of a conductive film 21 composed of an ITO film, an organic EL multilayer film 22 formed on an upper surface of the conductive film 21, upper transparent electrodes 23 formed on an upper surface of the organic EL multilayer film 22, and lead-out electrodes 24 connected to the upper transparent electrodes 23. The substrate 10, and the peripheral projecting portion 31 of the sealing plate 30 are sealed together through a welded layer 40 comprised of a solder disposed at a sealing portion formed between the substrate 10 and the peripheral projecting portion 31 of the sealing plate 30.

摘要： A gas is supplied to the surface of the glass sheet transferred between a heating furnace and a cooling apparatus for tempering the glass sheet. The gas is supplied from the upstream side with respect to the direction of transfer of the glass sheet by an air curtain device. This gas runs along the glass sheet surface (upper surface) downstream with respect to the direction of transfer to obstruct the flow of cooling gas from the cooling apparatus in the upstream direction. The gas prevents cooling air from the cooling apparatus from invading the heating furnace so that the difference of the curvature of the glass sheet on the front and rear part can be eliminated.

摘要： In a quenching apparatus for quenching a glass sheet that has been heated and bent in a heating furnace, a cooling gas blows onto the glass sheet to provide a distribution of a temperature and/or a distribution of a static pressure in at least one section in the quenching apparatus. The distribution of a temperature provides different temperatures between the both surfaces of the glass sheet, while the distribution of a static pressure is nonuniform in a part of at least one surface of the glass sheet. The distributions can modify a shape of the glass sheet given in the heating furnace so that a degree of freedom in shape for manufacturing a bent and tempered glass sheet by utilizing its self-weight can be improved.
