    • The present invention provides a display device including a scanning driving circuit which exhibits the high degree of freedom in designing of waveforms of scanning signals while ensuring the reduction of power consumption. A shift register served for a scanning driving circuit is driven at a voltage lower than a voltage amplitude of scanning signals. Booster circuits are provided corresponding to respective stages of the shift register. To each booster circuit, a common scanning signal which is in common with other booster circuits is inputted as a signal separate from a shift register output. The scanning signal is selected from the common scanning signal during a period in which the scanning signal is selected in response to the shift register output and the selected scanning signal is outputted to respective gate lines.

    • In a display device which includes a driver circuit having a shift register circuit, the shift register circuit is constituted of basic circuits in plural stages. Each basic circuit is constituted of a circuit A, a circuit B and a circuit C. The circuit A fetches a first drive clock (or a second drive clock) inputted from the outside when transfer data is inputted to the circuit A from a circuit of preceding stage, outputs the transfer data as a shift output of own stage, and transfers the transfer data to the circuit B. The circuit B transfers the transfer data to the circuit A of the basic circuit of the succeeding stage, and resets the circuit C. The circuit C resets the circuit A and the circuit B in synchronism with the first drive clock (or the second drive clock) generated at next timing or succeeding timing of the first drive clock.

The common electrode drive circuit includes a plurality of basic circuits, wherein the basic circuit includes a first circuit which latches a first input signal at a point of time that a clock signal is changed to a first voltage level from a second voltage level; a second circuit which latches a second input signal at the point of time that the clock signal is changed to the first voltage level from the second voltage level; a first switching circuit which is turned on based on the voltage latched by the first circuit and outputs a first power source voltage to an output terminal in an ON state; and a second switching circuit which is turned on based on the voltage which is latched by the second circuit and outputs a second power source voltage to an output terminal in an ON state, wherein when the first input signal assumes the second voltage level, the second input signal assumes the first voltage level, and when the second input signal assumes the second voltage level, the first input signal assumes the first voltage level, and after the clock signal is changed to the second voltage level from the first voltage level and before the clock signal returns to the first voltage level from the second voltage level, either one of the first input signal and the second input signal is changed to the second voltage level form the first voltage level.

    • The present invention provides a display device which includes a drive circuit having a CMOS shift register circuit constituted of a simple CMOS circuit. A drive circuit includes a shift register circuit, and the shift register circuit includes n(n≧2) pieces of basic circuits which are connected vertically in multiple stages. The basic circuit includes a first transistor of a first conductive type having a first electrode to which a clock is applied, a second transistor of a second conductive type different from the first conductive type in a conductive type and having a first electrode to which a second power source voltage is applied, and a third transistor of a first conductive type having a second electrode which is connected to the second electrode of the second transistor and a first electrode to which a first power source voltage different from the second power source voltage is applied, wherein the second electrode of the first transistor is connected to a control electrode of the third transistor, an input signal is applied to a control electrode of the first transistor and a control electrode of the second transistor, and a voltage of the second electrode of the third transistor forms a scanning circuit output.

    • A display device which enhances time-wise likelihood for a leak current from a floating memory node by increasing the number of writing of a voltage to a floating memory node is provided. In the display device, a vertical driver circuit includes a shift register circuit and a common electrode driver circuit. The shift register circuit is constituted of a plurality of basic circuits which outputs common electrode driving pulses based on a transfer clock inputted from the outside. The common electrode driver circuit is constituted of a plurality of common basic circuits to which the respective common electrode driving pulses outputted from the respective basic circuits of the shift register circuit and the transfer clock are inputted. Each common basic circuit includes: a circuit A which fetches an AC signal based on the common electrode driving pulse; a circuit B which outputs, based on the AC signal fetched by the circuit A, a first common voltage or a second common voltage which differs from the first common voltage in voltage level to the common electrodes corresponding to the AC signal; and a circuit C which holds a state of the circuit B based on the transfer clock.

    • The present invention provides a display device that has a driving circuit including a single channel bidirectional shift register with which the circuit scale can be reduced without increasing the number of elements.The driving circuit includes a single channel bidirectional shift register. This single channel bidirectional shift register has an RS flip-flop circuit. The RS flip-flop circuit includes a first transistor having a first electrode connected to an output terminal and having a second electrode to which a second scanning direction control signal is applied and a second transistor having a first electrode connected to an output terminal and having a second electrode to which a first scanning direction control signal is applied. In this circuit configuration, a resetting signal is applied to a control electrode of the first transistor in a first scanning direction, a setting signal is applied to the control electrode of the first transistor in a second scanning direction which is a direction opposite to the first scanning direction. The setting signal is also applied to a control electrode of the second transistor in the first scanning direction, and the resetting signal is also applied to the control electrode of the second transistor in the second scanning direction.
