    • A screen member for the hydraulic system of an agricultural tractor is disclosed wherein the screen member is formed with a threaded opening to permit mounting thereof on a stationary stud fixed to the interior wall of the hydraulic system reservoir. The screen member is sealed against the stationary stud by a sealing washer and against the opposing reservoir wall by an O-ring surrounding an access opening through which filtered hydraulic fluid is drawn from the interior of the screen member. The screen member is also formed with a handle projectable through the access opening in the reservoir to facilitate the rotation of the screen member for mounting on the stationary stud. The handle can be formed with an optional square opening for engagement with a standard rachet head to effect rotation of the screen member.

    • A heating element for the reservoir of the hydraulic system of an agricultural tractor is disclosed wherein the heating element is positioned within the interior of the inlet screen member. The heating element is formed with a threaded portion cooperable with the threaded opening of the screen member to permit mounting of the screen member directly on heating element, which in turn is threadably received in the interior wall of the hydraulic system reservoir. The screen member is sealed against the heating element to prevent the leakage of hydraulic fluid into the interior of the screen member. The heating element can be replaced with a stationary stud and sealed against the reservoir wall to allow the mounting of the screen member without utilization of the heating element.

    • Potential energy of an implement and implement supporting member, such as a mechanical arm, attached to a machine, such as construction equipment, is recovered by an energy converter, such as a generator or a motor driven by a flywheel or a pull-cord generator, during relative movement between the implement supporting member and the machine. An activator causes relative movement between the implement and the machine. The flywheel or pull-cord generator drives an auxiliary pump or electric generator when the flywheel or pull-cord generator moves relative the auxiliary pump or electric generator. The recovered potential energy is stored in an accumulator or battery. Kinetic energy may be converted to electric energy or hydraulic pressure and stored for later use.

    • A backhoe pivotally supported from a prime mover is disclosed wherein the hydraulic cylinders operably connected to the outrigger stabilizers are provided with a detent to maintain the outrigger stabilizers in an elevated transport position until being pressurized to extend the cylinders and, thereby, rotate the stabilizers into a ground engaging position. The detent is in the form of a projection extending inwardly from the barrel of the outrigger stabilizer cylinder and positioned for engagement with a deformable detent ring when the piston is moved to the fully retracted position. The detent includes a relief to permit the flow of hydraulic fluid past the engagement between the detent ring and the projection so that hydraulic cylinder will not become hydraulically locked.
