摘要： A plug connector (11, 12, FIG. 1) has insulators (16,26) that hold male or female contacts (13, 14, FIG. 3) received in boreholes (19, 29, FIGS. 4A, 4B)). A rear insulator holds a male or female contact (13, 14), which receives cables (45, 55, FIG. 3). The boreholes (19, 29) form fingers (78, 98, FIGS. 4A and 6) that can be radially spread apart to detachably hold the connector contacts (13, 14) in a preliminary locking manner. The plug connector also has a front insert (60, 80) with a front borehole (65, 85) aligned with the rear boreholes (19, 29) and being able to be placed in a non-detachable preliminary locking position that makes possible the attachment of the connector contacts (13, 14) and in a final locking position that holds the connector contacts (13, 14) in a non-releasable fashion.

摘要： Apparatus for selectively guiding printed sheets from the transport channel of a collating machine or the like comprises pairs of cooperating upper and lower clamping plungers which are driven by an arrangement of chains in a manner such that they execute and orbiting movement and are moved into the path on which the printed sheets to be intercepted move, the lower plungers of each pair extending through the transport surface. The pairs of clamping plungers move along a path which possesses a segment which is parallel to the direction of motion of the sheets and a contiguous downstream segment which leads angularly away from the initial motion path of the sheets. The clamping plungers are capable of selective actuation and when in the activated state clamp the printed sheets adjacent the leading and turning edges thereof and thus maintain the alignment thereof.

摘要： In the particular embodiment described in the specification, a contact lens hydrogel is prepared by copolymerizing 75 parts of N-vinyl pyrrolidone and 23 parts of phenyl ethyl methacrylate together with allyl methacrylate as a crosslinker, t-butyl peroctoate as a thermal initiator and 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone or benzoin methyl ether as a photoinitiator. The mixture is maintained at a temperature of 5.degree. C. and protected from light prior to photopolymerization which is carried out under ultraviolet radiation. The copolymer is then post-cured thermally. Cloudy or hazy hydrogels are avoided by preventing prepolymerization of the mixture.

摘要： A method is disclosed for disinfecting contact lenses with peroxide whereby the usual peroxide neutralization step is eliminated. This is accomplished by carrying out the disinfecting process at a hydrogen peroxide concentration of about 0.01 to less than 0.5% (w/v). In the preferred embodiment the peroxide is introduced into the system utilizing an effervescent tablet of an alkali metal perborate, percarbonate or persulfate, or urea peroxide.
