    • An optical switch includes a housing having reflecting and mounting surfaces facing each other, and a receiving chamber formed between the reflecting and mounting surfaces. The mounting surface is recessed to form at least two mounting recesses. A sensor unit includes a light emitter and at least one light receiver disposed respectively in the mounting recesses and exposed from the mounting surface to face the reflecting surface. The light emitter is capable of emitting light to the light receiver through a reflection of the reflecting surface. A slide disc is disposed slidably but not rollably in the receiving chamber, and is slidable between a blocking position, where the slide disc blocks the light emitted from the light emitter to the light receiver, and an unblocking position, where the slide disc allows the light emitted from the light emitter to be received by the light receiver.

    • A switch includes a housing defining bottom and top receiving grooves and a chamber, and a plurality of angularly spaced apart terminal rods mounted on the housing. The terminal rods have top and bottom end portions disposed around the top and bottom receiving grooves, respectively. Each terminal rod further has spaced-apart top and bottom transverse flanges disposed between the receiving grooves. The conductive ball is movable from the chamber to the top or bottom receiving groove and vice versa. The conductive ball contacts two adjacent ones of the terminal rods by bridging the top and bottom transverse flanges of the corresponding two terminal rods when the switch is in an ON position, and moves into the top or bottom receiving groove when the switch is in an OFF position.

    • A jerking-initiated switch includes two first shank members and two second shank members secured to first and second lateral sides of a base wall of an insulating frame to define a rolling path for rolling of an electrically conductive ball therealong. Two limb members are respectively and integrally formed with, and extend from, the second shank members to form a guideway along the rolling path such that the ball can slidably contact the limb members, and extend towards the first shank members to terminate at threshold regions that are spaced apart from the first shank members. The limb members have idle regions on the rolling path. Once the ball is jerked to displace from one of the idle and threshold regions to the other, the switch is placed in one of the first and second switching states.
