摘要： A method of making a mechanical fastening strip and a reticulated mechanical fastening strip are disclosed. The method includes providing a backing having upstanding posts; providing interrupted slits through the backing, the interrupted slits being interrupted by at least one intact bridging region; spreading the slit backing to provide multiple strands separated from each other between at least some of the bridging regions to provide at least one opening; and fixing the multiple strands of the backing in a spread configuration. The reticulated mechanical fastening strip includes multiple strands of a backing attached to each other at bridging regions in the backing and separated from each other between the bridging regions to provide openings. Upstanding posts on each of the multiple strands have bases attached to the backing, and each of the multiple strands has a width that is greater than that of the bases of its attached upstanding posts.

摘要： A method of making a mechanical fastening strip and a reticulated mechanical fastening strip are disclosed. 摘要： A hygiene article, particularly a sanitary napkin or an adult incontinence pad is disclosed. The hygiene article comprises an absorbent core having an elongate shape, being sandwiched between a back sheet and a front sheet. The back sheet and the front sheet extend beyond the absorbent core and are sealed together to form a sealing edge portion. A region of material adapted to form a first fastening means is arranged on the back sheet. A region of material adapted to form a second fastening means, substantially co-extensive with, and adapted to form a protective cover for, the first fastening means is also provided. Preferably at least the second fastening means is provided on the sealing edge. The fastening means may be formed from the same materials, for example, a hermaphroditic fastener, or from different materials for example, a mechanical fastening means and an adhesive fastening means.

摘要： A hygiene article closure tab, for use with a hygiene article such as a diaper, adult incontinence articles or feminine hygiene articles, is disclosed. The closure tab comprises a backing layer having a region adapted to carry at least one mechanical fastening means and a region adapted to form a fingerlift portion, the fingerlift portion being free from any fastening means. A first mechanical fastening means is carried on the backing layer adjacent the fingerlift portion, and has a width w1. A second mechanical fastening means is carried on the backing layer, and has a width w2 and is separated from the first mechanical fastening means by a separation distance d1. The width w1 of the first mechanical fastening means is greater than the separation distance d1, and the width w2 of the second mechanical fastening means is greater than the width w1 of the first mechanical fastening means.
