    • A system and associated methods for processing three-dimensional audio information for surround or stereo applications include a microphone assembly having three substantially coincident microphone elements. The microphone elements include one bidirectional-pattern microphone and two unidirectional microphones. The unidirectional-pattern microphones may generally face front and rear directions and align substantially with a null plane of the bidirectional element. As such, the output signals of the three microphones may be processed by a decoder into multiple channels, including, for example: left (L), center (C), right (R), surround left (SL), surround center (SC), surround right (SR), and height (H). Accordingly, the system may be used, for example, to capture sounds in three dimensions using a compact, small form-factor, single integrated microphone. One or more aspects of the invention may be capable of processing, for example, hemispheric sonic images through existing and future stereo or surround playback systems.

    • A prosthetic dental device comprised of a composite material including a polymer material and a ceramic material mixed within the polymer material. In one embodiment, the ceramic fillers are substantially, homogeneously dispersed within the polymer material. In one embodiment, the ceramic material is bonded to the polymer material through a coupling agent. In addition, the prosthetic dental device can be comprised of a different composite material. This composite material includes a ceramic matrix having pores and an organic material infiltrated into the pores. To construct the ceramic matrix, ceramic particles, a binder material, and a porogen material are mixed to create a composite material which is then molded and heated to create a substantially rigid ceramic structure. At least some of the binder material and the porogen material are evaporated during the heating step to create pores in the matrix which are filled with the organic material.

    • Systems and methods are disclosed which detect a change in the status of a multimedia asset in a multimedia delivery system, and take steps to make the multimedia asset available after the status change. The multimedia asset can then be locally recorded on the user's digital video recorder (DVR) before the status changes. Alternatively, the user can be directed to an equivalent asset, for example, video-on-demand (VOD). The user may also receive a notification, which can be displayed on a TV or computer monitor or send to a remote device, for example to a mobile phone as an email or a short message. The user may be able to purchase the asset and/or initiate recording the asset. The status can be, for example, an expiration date of an asset, or a change of the source or format of an asset.
