    • A system and method of Random-Access Response, RAR, messaging when a base station employs narrow beamforming. Multiple RAR messages are successively transmitted from the base station to a User Equipment, UE, before any response to a RAR message is received from the UE. Thus, despite any calibration mismatch between Uplink, UL, and Downlink, DL, beams in the beamformed system, a RAR message is not only received by the UE, but is received over the most-suitable DL beam for that UE. Each RAR message may contain a message-specific scheduling-delay indicator in the UL grant carried in the RAR message to provide an adjustable time delay for the UE's uplink transmission scheduled by the UL grant. Multiple RAR transmissions can schedule a single UL transmission at a specific time instance or different UL transmissions at different time intervals. The UE may report to the base station the best DL RAR transmission detected by the UE.

    • The present disclosure relates to a method performed in a network node (10) of a cellular radio communication system (1) for facilitating load sharing between a serving cell (2) and a neighbouring cell (3) of the cellular radio communication system. The serving cell serves a plurality of radio devices (4). The method comprises defining a first group of radio devices, which first group is a sub-group of the plurality of radio devices served by the serving cell. The method also comprises associating the first group of radio devices with a load sharing boundary (5) to a load sharing zone (6) between the serving cell and the neighbouring cell, beyond which load sharing boundary any of the radio devices in the first group is regarded as being able to be handed over to the neighbouring cell. The method also comprises gathering statistics relating to connection failures experienced by the radio devices in the first group. The method also comprises adjusting the load sharing boundary based on the gathered statistics.

    • The present invention relates to assigning addresses to communication devices in a radio access network and notifying communication devices of scheduled uplink transmission time periods. Related methods, communication devices and control units are disclosed. A method of assigning an address to a communication device in a radio access network for use in notification of scheduled uplink transmission time periods for the communication device is provided. The method comprises assigning to the communication device an uplink state flag (USF) value. Furthermore, the method comprises assigning to the communication device an extended USF (eUSF) value. The address assigned to the communication device is a combination of the assigned USF value and the assigned eUSF value. By means of the eUSF value, the normal address range provided by the USF is extended, thereby facilitating use of more communication devices in the radio access network.
