    • A reciprocating electric shaver (1) is provided. This reciprocating electric shaver (1) includes a main body block (8) and a head block (10), the head block (10) having four rotary connecting portions (32) at the front and the rear positions on the upper left and the upper right ends, the main body block (8) having four head support members (37), each of which can move up and down independently, and head floating springs (44) biasing upward each of the head support members (37) for floating, each of the head support members (37) of the main body block (8) being connected at the upper ends with each of the four rotary connecting portions (32) in a manner such that the head block (10) can rotate back and forth about the transverse direction of the shaver, thus allowing the head block (10) to rock back and forth relative to the main body block (8). As a result, even when the head block (10) is pressed against a skin with a small force, the head block (10) can excellently rock back and forth to conform to the contour of the skin.

    • A reciprocatory dry shaver has a shaving head carrying an outer cutter, and an inner cutter. An actuator is mounted in the shaving head for driving the inner cutter. The actuator includes an oscillator which carries a joint for driving connection to the inner cutter. Resilient coupling links are provided to support the oscillator to the shaving head in order to allow the oscillator to reciprocate relative to the shaving head. The resilient coupling link has its upper end coupled to the oscillator and has its lower end which is farther away from the inner cutter than the oscillator and is anchored to the shaving head. Thus, the oscillator is supported as being floated or lifted with respect to the shaving head, thereby being allowed to travel along a path which is somewhat arcuate in coincidence with the arc of the outer cutter.

    • A reciprocatory dry shaver capable of driving an inner cutter smoothly along an arcuately curved outer cutter for efficient shaving. The dry shaver includes a shaving head carrying an outer cutter which is arcuately curved along its length, and an inner cutter driven to reciprocate along the length of the outer cutter. An actuator is mounted in the shaving head for driving the inner cutter. The actuator includes an oscillator which reciprocates in the lengthwise direction of the outer cutter and carries a joint for driving connection to the inner cutter. Also included in the actuator is a resilient coupling link which supports the oscillator to the shaving head in order to allow the oscillator to reciprocate relative to the shaving head. The resilient coupling link has its one end coupled to the oscillator and the other end anchored to the shaving head at a portion away from the inner cutter than the oscillator. Thus, the oscillator is supported as being floated or lifted with respect to the shaving head, thereby being allowed to travel along a path which is somewhat arcuate in coincidence with the arc of the outer cutter. Accordingly, the oscillator, i.e., the inner cutter carried thereon can be guided smoothly along the arc of the outer cutter, assuring smooth and efficient shaving.

    • A dry shaver has an elongated shaving head with a lengthwise axis. The shaving head carries semi-cylindrical first and second outer cutters disposed on its opposite width ends, and a semi-cylindrical finishing cutter and a slit cutter interposed between the first and second outer cutters. The finishing cutter has a finishing foil which is deeply curved than a foil of the first and second outer cutters into an arcuate contour having a width less than that of the first and second outer cutters. The finishing foil disposed behind the first outer cutter comes into contact with a user's skin to make closer shaving than the first and second cutters. A skin guard project between the first outer cutter and the finishing cutter to protect the skin from being pressed excessively to a side of the finishing foil when moving the shaving head across a user' skin with the first outer cutter leading in a moving direction, thereby reducing skin irritation.

    • An electric shaver is provided which can enhance the vibration sound by increasing the length of arch-like edges formed between adjacent slots of the inner blade. In the electric shaver, an inner blade having the arch-like edges is moved reciprocally while its outer face contacts with and slides over an inner face of an outer blade to cut beard.     • A shaving foil for a dry shaver has a plurality of perforation arranged in an array. The shaving foil is formed in its skin contact surface with a plurality of recesses which define a thin section of reduced thickness at the recesses, while leaving thick sections at the remainder of the foil. Each perforation is configured to have its circumference defined partly by the thin section and partly by the thick section. Both of the thin and thick sections can come into contact with a user's skin for smoothly guiding hairs into the perforations to make close shaving without irritating the skin, while the shaving foil is moved across the skin. Especially, the thin sections act to cut the hairs shorter than the thick section, as wall as to raise flattened hairs into the perforations for successfully cutting the flattened hairs.

    • A shaving head for a dry shaver is capable of increasing the cutting efficiency, yet allowing the use of the inner cutter of simple structure. The shaving head has a slit cutter unit composed of an outer cutter shaped to have a top surface for contact with a user's skin, and an inner cutter in contact with a bottom surface of the outer cutter. The outer cutter has a U-shaped structure with a pair of legs connected by a crossbar, and to have a plurality of slits which are spaced in a lengthwise axis of the outer cutter to leave a plurality of bridges each between the adjacent ones of the slits. The slits extend continuously over a full width of the crossbar and into upper ends of the legs in a direction generally perpendicular to the lengthwise axis, giving two straight slit paths respectively on opposite width ends of the outer cutter. The straight slit paths on the opposite width ends are staggered with respect to each other along the lengthwise axis. Each of the bridges extends along the width axis of the outer cutter to make the bottom surface of the outer cutter smoothly continuous over the full length of the bridge, and that each bridge is formed at its longitudinal center with a deflection which is angled with respect to the width axis so as to leave, between the adjacent ones of the deflections, an angled path through which the straight slit paths of each slit extends continuously.
