    • A pin matrix having a plurality of pins disposed in a matrix pattern is mounted on a display unit disposed on an upper surface of a dot figure display main body in the housing of a dot figure display apparatus. As pins are driven, a dot figure capable of being touched and sensed is displayed. Infrared rays are irradiated from an infrared LED to the pin matrix. A video camera receives infrared rays reflected from a recursive reflection marker attached to a main finger tip to detect the position of the main finger tip on the pin matrix. A pressure sensor is mounted at each corner of the dot figure display main body. A pressure barycenter position and a press force relative to the pin matrix are calculated from a pressure detected with each pressure sensor. The manipulation state of the pin matrix is judged from the main finger tip touch position, pressure barycenter position and press force.

    • To take a ceremonial photograph including a user himself/herself in a theme park or the like, the user must hand to a third person a camera to ask the photographing. There is a system which can take a picture of a user when the user is in a predetermined position, but the user cannot confirm the picture when the user is being photographed. For the purposes, an image service system includes plural cameras connected to a network, an administration server for accumulating or distributing images taken by the cameras, and a client terminal for displaying the images taken by the cameras. The position of the user and the positions of surrounding cameras located within a predetermined distance from the client terminal are detected automatically. Images including the user can be displayed on the terminal.

    • A remote control device is provided which has a plurality of LEDs arranged on different surfaces of its body and a means for transmitting different signals from the different LEDs corresponding to direction buttons. The signal receiving unit of a target device to be operated, such as a television, receives a signal from only one LED as a valid signal according to the direction in which the remote control device is held. Different direction signals corresponding to “up”, “down”, “left” and “right” are received according to the direction in which the remote control device is held. Thus the remote control device can move the cursor on GUI up, down, left or right, without requiring the operator to consider the direction in which the remote control device is held.
