    • An optical pickup device including a light source, an objective lens for converging a light beam outgoing from said light source, a beam splitter arranged between the light source and the objective lens for splitting the light beam radiated from the light source from a light beam incident thereon via the objective lens and a photodetector for receiving the light beam split by the beam splitter and incident on it via the objective lens. The optical pickup device also includes irregularities or an inclined surface for scattering stray light components produced when a light beam outgoing from the light source is passed through the beam splitter for preventing the stray light components from entering the photodetector for improving detection accuracy of the photodetector.

    • A driving device includes a holder (16) movably carried by a chassis (5) and adapted for transporting a disc cartridge the holder holds between an insertion/ejection position and a loading position, and an ejection lever (39) for ejecting the disc cartridge from the holder (16). The driving device also includes a slider (31) movable in a direction of inserting the disc cartridge into the holder (16) and in a direction of ejecting the disc cartridge from the holder.     • A disc driving apparatus comprising an optical head as a record/reproduce means for recording information on and/or reproduce the same optically from a disc type recording medium;a feed motor as a feed means for moving the optical head toward the innermost or outermost region of the disc; a limit switch as a detector means for detecting that the optical head is placed at a first position proximate to the innermost region of the disc; and a butt member as a positioning means formed to butt against the optical head for limiting the motion of the optical head at a second position in the innermost region of the disc. The speed of the optical head being moved toward the innermost region of the disc by means of the feed motor is changed to a lower speed in synchronism with turn-on of the limit switch, and then the optical head is brought to a halt at the predetermined position limited by the butt member, whereby the optical head is placed exactly at the desired position.
