    • A power transmission comprises a belt type continuously variable ratio-change mechanism CVT and a fixed ratio rotational transmission mechanism GT, which transmit the rotational driving force of a primary shaft 1 rotationally driven by an engine to a countershaft 3 with a speed ratio change. The continuously variable ratio-change mechanism comprises a drive pulley 10, a driven pulley 15 and a metal belt 14 while the fixed ratio rotational transmission mechanism GT comprises a forward drive gear train, a forward output transmission gear train, and a reverse drive gear train. The forward drive gear train transmits the rotation of an input drive gear 31 on the primary shaft 1 through an idler gear 32 to a LOW driven gear 33 on a secondary shaft 2, and the forward output transmission gear train transmits the rotation of the secondary shaft 2 to the countershaft 3. The reverse drive gear train transmits the rotation of the input drive gear 31 through the idler gear 32 to a reverse driven gear 36 on the countershaft 3.

    • A frequency conversion circuit of the present invention includes: (i) a first mixer for mixing the radio frequency signal having a frequency fRF with a first oscillation signal having a frequency fLO1 so that the radio frequency signal is downconverted into an intermediate frequency signal; and (ii) a second mixer for mixing the intermediate frequency signal sent from the first mixer with two local oscillation signals so that the intermediate frequency signal is downconverted into two base-band signals having different phases. The second local oscillation signals have phases of 0° and 270°, respectively. These frequencies satisfies: fLO1=k×fRF(k>1) fLO2=fLO1/m, (m>1) k=m/(m−1). This arrangement ensures (i) a small frequency conversion circuit that can be mounted on an integrated circuit, (ii) a radio frequency receiver including the frequency conversion circuit, and (iii) a radio frequency transceiver including the radio frequency receiver.

    • In an emergency report apparatus in a vehicle, even though a power switch is turned into an OFF state, an execution enabled state of an emergency report process is maintained when an occupant is determined to be in the vehicle. Therefore, even when a necessity of executing an emergency report process arises after the power switch is turned into the OFF state, it is unnecessary to turn the power switch into the ON state, thereby improving the usability. In addition, after the power switch is turned into the OFF state, an execution disabled state is designated when the occupant is determined to be not in the vehicle. Such an execution disabled state restricts the electric power supply from an in-vehicle battery, thereby reducing the power consumption and helping prevent the battery from running out.

    • This invention provides a useful protein-bound magnetic particle which includes a magnetic particle produced in the cell of a magnetic bacterium, and a hybrid protein bound to an organic membrane covering the magnetic particle, and of which the hybrid protein comprises a membrane protein which is originally produced in a state of being bound to the organic membrane, and one or more useful proteins bound biologically through fusion or other binding means to the membrane protein. The protein biologically immobilized does not suffer reduced activity. It is possible to obtain a useful protein such as an enzyme, antibody, etc. immobilized on a magnetic particle, only by cultivating a transformed bacterium, and separating a magnetic particle produced in the cell of the bacterium. When a functional protein is immobilized in this way, it is possible to guide the functional protein magnetically, and to move it to a desired location effectively. As the expression site of a protein can be controlled genetically, a magnetic particle on which a binding protein such as protein A and a labeling protein such as luminescence-related protein are allowed to express themselves close to each other enables a highly sensitive detection process.
