    • A connector is mountable on a circuit board and matable with a mating connector having a mating portion and a mating shell. The connector comprises a housing and a shell. The housing is formed with a receiving portion. The receiving portion is receives the mating portion of the mating connector when the mating portion is inserted into the connector. The shell has a plurality of first connected portions and a plurality of second connected portions. The first connected portions are configured to be connected to the mating shell of the mating connector when the connector and the mating connector are mated with each other. The second connected portions are configured to be connected to the circuit board when the connector is mounted on the circuit board. The first connected portions and the second connected portions extend forward of the receiving portion.

    • A connector assembly includes a receptacle connector and a plug connector matable with the receptacle connector along a mating direction. The plug connector includes a lock activation portion movable between a lock position and an unlock position along an activation direction under a mating state. The receptacle connector includes a detection switch and a deformable lock operation member pivotably mounted to the plug connector that ensures movement of the lock activation portion in a separation direction when the lock activation portion is located at the unlock position under the mating state. The lock operation member has lock member ends that are received by holes of a receptacle shell to retain the plug connector and receptacle connector in the locked position and to effect closure of the detection switch. The detection switch is pressed by the lock activation portion to detect the lock activation portion is located at the lock position.

    • A battery powered toy telephone capable of playing in random order any one of several recorded messages, and also capable of intermittent ringing of a bell. Operation of the toy proceeds by turning on a switch, by pressing one or more buttons located below the dial of the toy telephone to cause the bell to ring intermittently, and then by removing the headset to play one of the recorded messages. The messages are recorded in separate grooves on a rotating sound disc that is disengaged from a stylus sliding in contact with a speaker cone by replacing the headset or pressing the strut, which must occur between consecutive messages. The bell rings intermittently only when the toy is turned on, the headset is in place or the strut is being pressed, and one of the buttons is being pressed, or has been pressed since replacing the headset or while depressing the strut.

    • A connector is mountable on a circuit board and matable with a mating connector inserted from a front end of the connector toward a rear end of the connector. The connector has a plurality of contacts, a holder for holding the plurality of contacts so that the plurality of contacts is arranged in a lateral direction, and a shell for covering at least part of the holder. The shell has a lower plate facing the circuit board when the connector is mounted on the circuit board. The lower plate includes a front edge, an inner back edge located away from the front edge by a predetermined distance, inner side edges connecting the inner back edge to the front edge, and a ground portion projecting frontward from the inner back edge. The inner back edge and the inner side edges define a recessed area recessed rearward from the front edge by a predetermined distance. The ground portion is connectable to the circuit board.
