    • A heat dissipating structure for heating element includes a heating element having a heat generating element for generating heat by being driven, and a first plate member and a second plate member bonded to one surface of the heating element so as to be stacked together. The first plate member has a cutout portion opened to penetrate therethrough and is bonded to the heating element so as to block the cutout portion, the second plate member has a protruding portion fitted to the cutout portion of the first plate member, the protruding portion being structured to penetrate through the cutout portion to be bonded to the heating element, and a modulus of longitudinal elasticity of a material constituting the first plate member is larger than a modulus of longitudinal elasticity of a material constituting the second plate member.

    • A front mechanism mounted on a chassis loads a cassette in place by causing a first projection and a second projection on each of opposite side portions of a cassette carrying tray to slide along respective guide grooves formed in each of side plates. Power is transmitted from a drive cam gear provided on the rear side of the chassis to the tray via a drive mechanism, intermediate gear and rotary gear. For loading, the tray initially starts to move as inclined with the first projection and the second projection sliding along slanting grooves and is thereafter lowered by sliding movement of the projection along a vertical groove and sliding movement of the projection along a descent groove while being corrected from the inclined position to a horizontal position. Upon completion of cassette loading, the intermediate gear and the rotary gear constitute a Geneva stop, and the drive cam gear disengages from the drive mechanism. A support guide supporting the drive mechanism is provided by being formed by outsert molding inside the chassis and thereafter being rotated to project from a side portion of the chassis.

    • A chassis is slidably provided with a circular-arc control slide bulging toward a rotary cylinder and having projections spaced apart from each other. Reel supports and a reel drive mechanism are arranged on the curving-in side of the slide. Disposed on the path of movement of the slide is a drive cam gear formed with cam grooves each extending from an outer peripheral opening toward its center. The slide is formed thereon with a toothed projection which meshes with the cam gear during a period after one of the projections is fitted in the corresponding cam groove and until the other projection is fitted in the corresponding cam groove. The slide is further formed with a cam groove having engaged therein a soft brake lever for giving a light load to the reel support in REV mode, a brake lever for lightly braking a capstan motor in SLOW mode, a tension regulator lever for lightly braking the reel support in FF/REW mode, and a withdrawing lever for withdrawing a magnetic tape from a cassette for loading to operate these levers.

    • A cam groove provided in a chassis is furnished with a first cam portion permitting an eject button to move only forward from being depressed, and a second cam portion permitting the button to shift between its depressed and protruding states. A slide unit interlocks with a switching lever spring-urged toward a push-out plate and moves away from a recording-medium travel path by being pushed by a recording medium when plugged into the chassis. In standby, the switching lever interlocks with the first cam portion, advancing into the travel path. With a recording medium bieng plugged into the chassis, by the eject button being pushed a first time the switching lever withdraws from the travel path and shifts into the second cam portion, permitting the eject button to protrude backward. By the eject button being pushed a second time, the push-out plate and slide unit are put into cooperation.
