    • A disk changer stably maintains a tray with a selected disk loaded thereon even if a physical impact or vibration is loaded from outside therein while the tray is being drawn out, the disk is being reproduced, or the tray is being retained. The disk changer has a retaining device which retains therein a plurality of trays each for loading a disk thereon at corresponding retaining positions parallel to each other in a horizontal state and also draws each tray out from the retaining position in the substantially horizontal direction, a guide member provided at a position corresponding to the retaining position, a tray moving mechanism engaging with a tray selected from the plurality of trays, causing the selected tray to engage with the guide member, and drawing out the selected tray partially or entirely from the retaining device in the substantially horizontal direction to move the tray to a position corresponding to the selected tray, a driving device which drives a disk on the selected tray drawn out to the drawing-out position, having a tray loading section for loading thereon the selected tray, and the guide member engages with the selected tray when the selected tray is drawn out by the tray moving mechanism, and elastically maintains the selected tray on a plane substantially identical to that of the corresponding retaining position collaborating with the retaining device and/or the tray loading section.

    • A writing instrument has a felt pen core held in a leading holder at the leading end of a pen shaft. The pen core is movable along the longitudinal direction of the pen shaft and is pressed in the longitudinal direction to supply ink stored in an ink storage chamber inside the pen shaft to the pen core. A base end portion includes a projection with a tapered outer side surface that narrows the projection in the tail direction. The projection is lower than an engaging portion and is movable along the longitudinal direction between the engaging portion and the leading end of the pen shaft. A notch is formed in a base-end surface of the base end portion and extends in the upper direction. The projection undergoes an elastic deformation to narrow the width of the notch, thereby narrowing a maximum width of the projection.

    • An optical pickup apparatus has a simplified configuration for using a plurality of laser beams at different wavelength to reduce the size, and a laser diode chip for use therewith. An irradiation light path for leading a laser beam emitted from a light emitter to a recording medium is provided with an optical axis correcting element for passing a first laser beam and for diffracting a second laser beam having a wavelength different from that of the first laser beam to generate diffracted light which has the optical axis substantially matching the optical axis of the first laser beam. The optical axis correcting element is arranged at a position at which the center of a light intensity distribution of the first laser beam incident thereto matches the center of a light intensity distribution of the second laser beam incident thereto.

    • The sealant cartridge of the invention utilizes a specially designed plunger in a standard cartridge body for storing and dispensing air-curable sealants. The plunger has a plurality of grooves formed in its circumferential surface. With the plunger removed, the cartridge body can be filled with sealant through its open end. When the plunger is inserted into the open end of the cartridge body, air that is entrapped between the plunger and sealant escapes through the grooves and sealant is then extruded therethrough. The sealant in the grooves cures, protecting the sealant stored in the cartridge from contact with the atmosphere.
