    • An information apparatus for use in mobile unit, which is mounted on a mobile unit, includes at least a broadcast receiver 11 and 13 for receiving a broadcasting signal containing a broadcasting station name; a recognition dictionary 30 for registering the broadcasting station name; and a voice recognition section 27 for performing voice recognition of a voice input indicating the broadcasting station name, and carries out, referring to the dictionary, tuning to the broadcasting station associated with the broadcasting station name corresponding to a voice recognition result. The information apparatus for use in mobile unit further includes a recognition dictionary update section 26 for updating the dictionary in response to reception of the broadcasting signal; and a dictionary update deciding section 25 for making a decision, referring to an update mode at the update of the dictionary when receiving the broadcasting signal, as to whether any change occurs between the broadcasting station transmitting the broadcasting signal and the update mode or not, and for altering, if any change occurs, an update frequency of the dictionary by the dictionary update section in response to a traveling condition of the mobile unit or to a receiving condition of the broadcasting signal.

    • According to a voice recognition device of this invention, with respect to a keyword extracted by a voice recognition unit from a speech content by a user, display contents each displayed by an operation by the user and their respective numbers of display times are stored as history information, and a search level is set through determination of whether or not the same operations and displays have been made by a predetermined number of times or more. This makes it possible, at the next time the same keyword is extracted, to immediately present information of such a level that the user requires, and thus, detailed information necessary for the user can always be provided efficiently, so that the convenience of the user is enhanced.
