    • An ultrasonic image generating device which generates a cross-sectional image of a specific cross-section of a subject from ultrasonic images obtained by scanning the subject from a plurality of directions using an ultrasonic probe, includes: a cross-section position identifying unit which obtains cross-section information indicating a position and an orientation of the specific cross-section; a positional information obtaining unit which obtains positional information including a position and an orientation of each of the ultrasonic images of the subject; a reference image selecting unit which selects at least one of the ultrasonic images as a reference image, the at least one of the ultrasonic images having a distance from the specific cross-section that is less than a first threshold and an orientation difference from the specific cross-section that is less than a second threshold; and a cross-sectional image generating unit which generates the cross-sectional image using the reference image.

    • An ultrasound image generation apparatus includes: a first motion estimation unit which estimates, as a first motion vector, a motion vector of the ultrasound probe using a first estimation method, the motion vector indicating the movement between images of the respective ultrasound signals; a second motion estimation unit which estimates, as a second motion vector, a motion vector of the ultrasound probe using a second estimation method different from the first estimation method in direction dependency of estimation accuracy; and a position reconstruction unit which (i) assigns, based on a direction of the first motion vector or a direction of the second motion vector, weights to the first and the second motion vectors, (ii) combines the weighted first and second motion vectors into a combined motion vector, and (iii) constructs an ultrasound diagnostic image of a subject using the combined motion vector and the images.

    • An image processing device (200) according to the present invention includes: a shooting period obtaining unit (205) configured to obtain a shooting period; an imaging unit (202) which includes a plurality of pixels each converting light into an electrical signal, and which has a first mode in which a low-resolution image signal is outputted and a second mode in which a high-resolution image signal is outputted, the low-resolution image signal including electrical signals converted by a first number of pixels among the plurality of pixels, the high-resolution image signal including electrical signals converted by a second number of pixels among the plurality of pixels, and the second number being greater than the first number; a control unit (210) configured to cause the imaging unit (202) to operate in the first mode during the shooting period, and to operate in the second mode during a period other than the shooting period; and a super-resolution unit (203) configured to generate a super-resolution image signal by performing a resolution up-converting process on the low-resolution image signal outputted by the imaging unit (202) during the shooting period, using the high-resolution image signal outputted by the imaging unit (202) during the period other than the shooting period.
