摘要： An airbag includes a main inflation portion to be deployed and inflated at an outer side of the upper body of an occupant, and an auxiliary inflation portion disposed at a position adjacent to an inner side of the main inflation portion and to be deployed and inflated at an obliquely front outer side of a head portion. In the airbag whose deployment and inflation are completed, a maximum dimension in a facing direction in which an outer main body portion and an inner main body portion of the auxiliary inflation portion face each other is smaller than a dimension in a direction orthogonal to the facing direction. The auxiliary inflation portion has the outer main body portion as a joining area, and is joined to the main inflation portion in the joining area, in a state of being in communication with the main inflation portion.

摘要： An airbag device for a driver's seat adapted to be mounted on a boss of a steering wheel disposed at a center of a rim is disclosed. The airbag device includes an inflatable airbag folded in the form of an airbag package. The airbag includes a vehicle-side wall that includes a gas inlet port and is configured to be supported by the rim when deployed, and a driver-side wall. The airbag, before folded into the airbag package, has a flat initial folded form in which the driver-side wall lies over the vehicle-side wall. The initial folded form includes a folded-in portion in which a front edge portion of the vehicle-side wall is folded inwardly and rearwardly beneath a front edge portion of the driver-side wall, and a folded-back portion in which the front edge portion of the driver-side wall which adjoins the folded-in portion is folded towards the inlet port on the vehicle-side wall.

摘要： An actuator of an airbag device includes a main body portion, which is attached to an attachment base, and a cap including a fitting protruding portion that is inserted into a fitting recessed portion of the main body portion. The fitting protruding portion has a holding portion, which is inserted into a holding hole of a coupling member when fitted to the main body portion and holds a leading end portion of the coupling member, and a movement permitting unit that, when a ceiling portion of the cap is subjected to pressure of a combustion gas of a squib, causes the ceiling portion to move, and causes the holding portion to move from a holding position, wherein the holding portion is inserted into the holding hole of the coupling member, to a holding released position, wherein the holding portion is removed from the holding hole.

摘要： An airbag includes a mounting portion, a top wall deployable towards a vehicle occupant, and a circumferential wall disposed between the mounting portion and top wall. An airbag base member for forming the airbag includes a top-forming panel for forming the top wall, and at least three circumferential panels that extend generally radially from the top-forming panel and form the circumferential wall by being joined together by adjoining edges thereof. Each of the circumferential panels is formed into a generally band-like contour which has a first and a second curving edges that make the circumferential panel enlarge in width from the leading end towards an intermediate portion and then narrow towards the top-forming panel. When the airbag base member is laid flat, adjoining edges of any two adjoining circumferential panels are generally symmetrical to each other in curving shape with respect to a line disposed there between.

摘要： A support structure for an airbag apparatus includes an airbag apparatus having a bag holder, a pin, a pin holder, a damper holder, an elastic member, a motion transmitting portion, a motion receiving portion, and a noise suppressing portion. The pin includes a shaft portion passed through a mounting hole provided in the bag holder and a flange portion formed at the rear end of the shaft portion. The pin holder slidably covers the shaft portion. The damper holder is mounted to the airbag apparatus while covering the pin holder. The elastic member includes an elastic body portion. A gap is provided inside the motion transmitting portion. The noise suppressing portion is located between the gap and the pin holder, is made of a material softer than the pin holder, and has an inner diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the elastic body portion.

摘要： An airbag device includes an airbag having an exhaust hole and a flap member that can close off the exhaust hole. The flap member includes a flap main body and a coupling member. The leading end of the coupling member is coupled with an opening/closing control device. The flap main body closes off the exhaust hole from an inner peripheral face side of the airbag. A width on the base portion side is set to be greater than a width of the exhaust hole. Whole of the base portion side is joined to the peripheral edge of the exhaust hole in the airbag. The flap main body covers the exhaust hole in a region between straight lines that connect one end each of a joint region on the base portion and a region on the leading end to which the coupling member is caused to be coupled.

The airbag is configured such that a portion of the airbag ejected from the accommodation portion to the position beside the headrest is deployed and inflated in a position rearward of the seat back, and is inflated and deployed away from the accommodation portion in the width direction in a position rearward of the headrest, and that another portion of the airbag ejected from the accommodation portion to the position beside the headrest is deployed and inflated in a position forward of the seat back, and is deployed and inflated in a position forward of a head of an occupant seated in the vehicle seat and away from the accommodation portion in the width direction, so as to wrap around the head.
